Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles -- New Cartoon, not the Michael-Bay-ruining-your-childhood-version

New series on Nick, aired last weekend, thoughts?

I liked the first episode a lot. It doesn't seem super serious (like the 2003 series), but it seems to be humorous like the original cartoon, but more serious than that (which, let's face it, is not hard to do). Seems to take a lot of inspiration from the original series though, which is not a bad thing in my book. Honestly, it kinda reminds me of Avatar, especially since Mikey reminds me of Sokka -- which is awesome.

Splinter is taller than all of the turtles, was a human prior to being a giant ninja rat, and Mikey acts like a retarded 5 y/o. That is all.

I can't quite seem to figure out why, but I liked this. Hopefully it'll be a show worth watching.

The commercials made me very skeptical but the short preview they gave some days ago made me curious. I may have to see an ep or two to give a better opinion.

Enjoyed the first episode for some reason. Mainly because they used the tag Heroes in a Halfshell in the theme song
