Considering joining the Armed Forces (Navy/Marines)

Yeah, I know, one of these show up every so often but here it is. So lately, I've been been thinking of doing something more with my life, it's not like I'm a burnout or anything (3.3 GPA in college). I'm just currently considering it, I just feel as if I've hit a plateau in my life and I'd like to be apart of something bigger than myself. Now, I'm naive to the point where I think I'm going to change the world by joining and such things.

What are the things I'd have to do to be able to join and such? Like I said, just considering this and currently collecting as much information as possible.

What would be the differences between the branches?

depends what you want to do, lol.

Navy has better IT type roles, though you can still get to them + some pretty cool ones through the army.

Air Force treats their people the best, flat out. Best room/board overseas and stateside, hours, all that stuff.

If you want to go into intelligence, do it in the army.

Infantry, do it in the army.
(Above two, get a ranger contract or consider not doing the above two)

Medical (front lines) do it in the army.

Bullet catcher, marines.

Pilot, easier to be a combat pilot in the marines. They have the most combat vehicles to fly and little Annapolis prejudice. Navy/Air force have a lot of other types of pilot jobs that are pretty much hauling cargo. Army has helicopters only and you can't sign up to be one straight away.

IED catcher, marines/army.

Something on a ship, navy.

Imagery, air force.

Air Force is great though, it's what I was looking into back in the day since my uncle served there and said it was a great experience.

I think the navy might be a good fit. There is a lot of electronic equipment on them boats and you can get a good contractor job out of the navy to work on them.

Also there are those easy jobs like cooks, stores handlers, and the people that handle the the paper work.

Personally, I think the AF is great. However, the base and job I have right now are helping me decide to get out in 10 months.

Air force is congested in advancement, has been for decades.

Navy can be, but depends on rate/MoS.

Still would do Navy again if I had the choice, but I've always been a water guy. Can't deal with being smack dab in the middle of a continent.

I flew on a commercial flight once as a baby, and in a small single engine plane when I was a toddler, but I don't really remember either. So no, I've never been in one. I just think they're cool aircraft.

They are horrible and scary as all fuck. It's like being in an MH-53 with the oil, gasoline and I'm about to blow up smell coupled with the fact that it just isn't a safe design for combat.

Edit: I was more scared flying in those than on any mission, ever.
