    All-Natural Skin Care Thread

I was wondering what products or items BG uses to take care of there skin, all-naturally. I've always wanted to find something that helps me get one even skin tone across my body, I currently have 9~10 (seriously) different shades all over my body, the darkest areas are my lower back, ass and groin area.

Gonna ask a legit question. When I first started to shave I messed it up, and now I have a few ingrown hairs. Any solutions besides lasers or something crazy?

hand-held razors absolutely destroy my skin; bumps within hours. I trim down with electric clippers, then use the proper attachment to go bald if needed. Use separate devices if you doing face/nutz, because no.

Sounds like vitiligo. I can't speak for how to help with that since I'm white as hell.

I do however have a bad case of KP that looks like I have razor burn if I don't get any sun. So I tan a bit before bed (it just masks it but yay Vitamin D) and use Amlactin when it gets bad.

I used to get a wicked farmer's tan with all the biking I do, but now I just bike everywhere without my shirt on and put it on when I get to my destination, cleared that problem right up.

if your skin is dry and you need to moisturize it, use coconut oil, cold pressed organic and/or use a little bit of extra virgin olive oil. those 2 work wonders. morrocan oil isnt all that great unless you use it for hair, but a good way to keep nice and healthy skin is a nice and healthy diet. try to get some green tea extracts, omega 3's in your system and good complex carbs and fats, and you're good to go. (also, if you put those 2 on, put them on before you sleep. not before you go out)

if your skin is too oily, you can use an oats blended organic lotion. it will absorb a lot of grease and keep you moisturized for about 24 hours.

if your trying to lighten your skin, hydrogen peroxide really isnt that bad unless you're using the FULL BLOWN stuff. aka the ones that bleach your hair, but i actually prefer lemon juice. but rather than smear it on your face, take some and put it on your scrub brush or soap and go nuts. however you have to be careful. lightening your skin makes you more prone to sun which means you need some good SP40 sunscreen. and sunscreen is a blessing. i wear it even in the winter. plus its good for reducing wrinkles

Why do you want an All-Natural fix to a totally natural problem? Your skin isn't all one color. Gettovahit.

I use Dead Sea Minerals facial scrub for my face and it's amazing. It's defintiely worth the money. I also cut sugar out of my diet and my skin cleared up in a week. It's actually really dramatic and all the little things I hated about my face vanished. Give it a try and see what results you get.

I don't know what to say about all your skin shades. It sounds like it's an all-over-the-body thing. Most creams are really only designed for the face.

I constantly have razor burn/cuts myself. I tried using an electric razor but that made it even worse. I went to a safety razor and use this shaving cream. My skin is just so darn sensitive I don't know what to do with it. Even just getting out of the shower without shaving my neck is beat red. And it cuts so easily too and I bleed for hours. I can't shave before work unless I want to show up with dry blood on my face.

My routine is: warm face, lather with badger brush, shave softly only using downstrokes, rinse, bump patrol aftershave, witch hazel, bump stopper lotion, moisturizer. If anyone has any suggestions to lessen the razor burn, irritation, and cuts I'd love to hear them.

I use this for pretty much everything. Shampoo and body wash. I don't use conditioner because I have stereotypically greasy Italian hair. I can't really give any tips for shaving bumps since I only ever use a trimmer. Shortest I go is stubble.

I drink a lot of water (easily 8+ glasses worth a day, 4-5 of which with green tea), avoid hothot showers (warm is fine), and moisturize lightly after the shower. I tend to opt for a moisturizing body wash + loofa too, not a fan of the strongly scented 'manly axe/old spice/etc' washes. And I remember something about trying not to take more than one shower a day too, but I usually don't anyway.

Skin is very healthy and most of the blotches I had while yonger are gone/have dissipated.

I also have this horrible farmers tan on my body. My feet are as white as snow but above my ankle to my knee is brown. My elbow to my finger tips are brown but if I flip my arm over the underside is white lol. I've heard of the hydrogen peroxide method but apparently it might be a problem with hair, and being hairy that would mean shaving my arms and legs to apply it (nope).

As for shaving face. I use a machine then use a razor to clean up. I get razor burn but stuff like rattlesnake oil soap seems to help with it. Also does other stuff and leaves my face nice afterwards. You could also try out African black soap which works in a similar fashion. They're both helpful with acne/pimples/dry skin/dandruff (face/scalp)/sensitive skin/rashes/irritations/oily skin/odors etc etc

    haha i wish! thanks!

as far as razor bumps go, anything with aspirin will work wonders (like the video link the dude posted earlier). i prefer this:
    http://www.haironthebrain.com/2009/0...made-tendskin/

the actual product used to cost like 50 bucks when it 1st came out until people realized it cost like 5 bucks to make lol. if that.

after using anything like that though, make sure you apply some kind of moisturizer on your face. its begging for it since it will be incredibly dry and rough from the aspirin.

i forgot to mention, but if you want to darken your skin and get some tan, cocoa butter works wonders along with a ton of carrots lol. (seriously) but i never have problems with tanning. its the lightening that frustrates me. over the counter products that enhance lightening skin are gimmicks unless its been certified approved by some kind of skin consultant or dermatologist. I've just started using milk and eggs on my hair for the extra protein mixed in with some olive oil. i would whisk it and let it sit for about 45 min and my hair would come out extremely strong, but after playing around, i decided to use it on my skin and i looked like i just donated like 10 pints of blood. it really lightens up your skin a lot, and helps blend in any pigmentation around your body.
