    Doctor BG: Finger nail has bumps and no cutical

    So about a week ago I noticed that my finger nail was growing with some bumps and groves in it. This has continued and now my cutical is gone (I don't tear the skin off of my fingers.

    The white spot looks like nail that didn't stick to itself?

    There is no pain, so I've just been kind of ignoring it.
    Is this something I need to be concerned about or will it fix itself?

    You have dietary issues or some illness. horizontal ridges are not good, have blood work done to figure out the cause. Can't be diagnosed otherwise.

    That being said, get to a doctor. I just don't have insurance.

    The groove I've only had because I chipped my nail while removing cuticle but my nails grow in kinda like that. No/small cuticle with faint white spots. I was always told it was a calcium deficient but eh.

    One time I smashed my finger because my hand accidentally flew into the hinge of a door that was closing as I was running upstairs. The whole thing turned black, fell off and then a grotesque bumpy white nail eventually grew in.

    Did you accidentally smash your finger with a hammer and not remember it? Doctor is probably smart if you're concerned. A whole slew of diseases can cause your nails to freak out.
