Black Friday 2012 - Now with more Thanksgiving!

Wal-Mart recently announced that it will be holding three "events" on Black Friday that include different sale prices. Event 1 starts at 8pm on Thanksgiving. That's right, Black Friday starts on Thanksgiving Thursday this year. I expect other retailers to follow suit. Right now the Best Buy ad states midnight Friday, but Target is opening at 9pm.

Now that I'm no longer in retail, I support this. It's incredibly shitty to expect workers to give up more and more family time for marginal profit.

Wal-Mart has a bunch of games for $25 (Madden 13, Dishonored, etc). Best Buy has some Blu-Rays for $4 and recent releases (Brave for $8). If the Vita is good, I'm interested in asking the girlfriend for the $199 bundle.

First Black Friday post-college, post-retail with a legitimate income. Budgeted $1000 for Black Friday / Cyber Monday but I'm quite stingy and scroogey with my money even when I'm trying to force myself to spend so I'll probably only spend like $300 still.

Ads have been slightly disappointing this year. Maybe it's just because there isn't much I need anymore. I am getting the $229 Brobox kinetic bundle in the Walmart ad with the Disneyland game (online deal). It's for my daughters. Never owned an Xbox before. Hopefully the target ad has something. I need something to buy. I have to be out black Friday.

Just got a text from my brother who works at Wal-Mart who has to work 3pm-midnight on Thanksgiving, then work 8am-5pm on Black Friday.

There's a reason there are Wal-Mart strikes happening.

What size hard drive does this come with? If it's solely for little kids, might not be a big deal, but a 4gig HD might negate any real savings later on.

However, I won't even touch shopping in store on black friday anymore. People are just too retarded to save $5.... Hell, I won't even do a retail store detail this year. The money isnt worth the hassle

Eh, even if you get the 4gb HD for brobox you can order a bigger one for hella cheap from amazon. You can even get the 99$ kinext or whatever xbox and 2yr of live access (which most people would use anyway) and then buy a 30$ 250gb HD and save a ton of money.

I haven't seen anything good this year either sadly. As tempting as I am to grab a PS3 bundle, I don't really play console games that much anymore.

I might just hunt around NewEgg and hope I can get a good case.
