Metal Gear Solid 1 remake 2 {If Kojima finds the right studio}

Much like he had Platinum Games make Revengence, Kojima is looking for a studio to do a complete rebuild of the first Solid title with the Fox Engine.

Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima is looking for a studio to create a second remake of the original Metal Gear Solid, he said during an E3 round table earlier this month.

The first remake of the game came from Silicon Knights in the form of 2004′s Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes for GameCube.

This new remake, Kojima said, would use the Fox Engine, which powers the upcoming Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. He noted that some mechanics would need updating.

So long as it retains the same emotion which Twin Snakes failed to deliver on. Who am I kidding? I'll buy it anyway....but I hope they keep it more grounded to the original.

From the wording, it seems more like he's looking to find someone else to remake it and him to just green light it.

I'm surprised it isn't for the original Metal Gears, since there's liberty for creative freedom there.

MGS1 just seems like a waste to redo the same game but 'with better graphics' since it's been done already, but if you remake it to be a slightly different game (perhaps new locations, larger existing bases, expanded plot, etc), then the fanbase will scream bloody murder. It's basically the same issue I see with remaking FF7.

While I agree with the expanded plot, etc. it would be really nice to be able to play MGS with MGS3 style CQC.

Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima is not seeking a studio to develop a remake of the first Metal Gear Solid in Fox Engine, the creator said on Twitter.

“There’s a rumor about remaking [Metal Gear Solid 1 and 2], but that’s not true,” Kojima said, referencing this article published yesterday. “It has been modified in the thread or something.

“This mistranslation could happen when translating into Japanese/ simply misunderstood by media. No one would read the original article.”

He clarified: “I’ve said ‘I’d want to remake [Metal Gear Solid with] Fox Engine if poss[ible], but we still have ‘V‘ and other prioritized titles that [make it] imposs[ible] to make.

“I wouldn’t mind if talented creator from outside studio making this happen. That’s what I answered during the [question].”

That's what I'm thinking. What better way to end the Big Boss storyline than have both Snakes clash. Goddamn it'll be epic w/this gen's graphics....

Only thing wrong with having a MGS1 remake is that it would be pretty damn short imo, i mean just take act4 of MGS4, can run through that in like 30 mins max so they would either need to add new shit or find someway to super extend each area to give it at least a somewhat decent playtime unless they do the first 2 as well and just join them together in one game but can't see that working too well.
