Apparently Wikileaks has an ace up their sleeve.

    http://rt.com/usa/assange-wikileaks-...-exposure-833/
WikiLeaks still has some unreleased US government classified documents, but will not publish them as long as the website’s main informer, US Army Private Bradley Manning, undergoes court martial and faces a life sentence.

Julian Assange told Australia’s Fairfax Media on Tuesday that his team will not publish the sensitive data in order to protect the source connected to the US military - despite the fact that Bradley Manning admitted disclosure of classified documents to WikiLeaks project.

The WikiLeaks founder called Bradley Manning “America's foremost political prisoner” who “faces retribution for revealing the truth," the Sydney Morning Herald reports.

Manning leaked classified documents to WikiLeaks in early 2010. Since his arrest, Manning has spent over 1,000 days in prison. He has pleaded guilty to 10 charges and faces 20 years' imprisonment or even a life sentence if found guilty of aiding the enemy.

The Bradley Manning trial is set to start on June 3.

"We still can't publish it. It would be a questionable action to do so now while Bradley Manning has a potential life sentence hanging over his head," Assange said.

Last week Manning publicly accepted that he handed over hundreds of thousands of classified US State Department diplomatic cables to WikiLeaks. Manning maintained he expected the publication of these documents to push the American public to discuss the US foreign policy and military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.

    Manning still stands a chance
Last week Bradley Manning read a 35-page statement in court explaining his motivation for publishing state secrets.

Julian Assange believes that this is a “very positive development” for Manning, who was allowed to share his views for the first time, and that this statement will “stimulate public debate about war.”

The prosecutors also accuse Manning of passing some classified memoranda of the CIA to WikiLeaks, an accusation much more serious than publishing diplomatic cables.

Julian Assange acknowledged that he "wouldn't go beyond what Manning has said" and cannot confirm whether or not the published CIA documents came from Manning.

"I can't say anything that might suggest that someone had been responsible for, or was party to, any further disclosure," he stressed.

Julian Assange also revealed that WikiLeaks no longer has a video exposing a US airstrike near Granai village in Afghanistan in May 2009 that killed up to 150 Afghan civilians, including many children. The video was acquired through Manning.

WikiLeaks prepared the video for release, but then team member Daniel Domscheit Berg left WikiLeaks, taking a number of important records with him. Berg later claimed he had destroyed the records.

"WikiLeaks no longer has a copy," Assange acknowledged.

In August 2010 WikiLeaks whistleblower posted a 1.4 gigabyte encrypted file called ‘Insurance’ to the World Wide Web. The file appeared to be a guarantee of staying safe for the members of WikiLeaks project, so that if any harm were to come their way a key to the encrypted file will be published and the world will know some really nasty secrets.

Julian Assange has not specified to the Fairfax Media what exact classified information WikiLeaks is going to publish once the Bradley Manning trial is over.
Even if the info was really released, the U.S. Citizens would be shocked for a weekend then flip the channel. After all that has happened so far, does anyone really think that Americans are going to react anymore then shaking their fists at their computer screens? The only thing (in my mind) that would cause a revolt against the government is if the Internet and T.V. were suddenly cut off.

Well, the reason I'm not shocked by this is because this is about the fourth time that Wikileaks has claimed to have an ace in the hole and then not do anything with it. They have about as much cred with threats as North Korea does to me right now.

Maybe this time it's about aliens influencing the government. Ancient Aliens to be precise. Please let it be about aliens.

The reptilian aliens have taken control of Assange's mind! That's why he can't make good on his threats.

On a more serious note; Wasn't Assange playing a game of cat-and-mouse with governments trying to extradite him to America? Is he still holed up in an embassy somewhere? Time to google it!

At this point I think most Americans if not completely derp understand there is a problem but don't exactly know what to do about it. The Tea Party was quickly morphed into a hand for the wealthy and OWS degenerated into a sea of complaints with no real demands amidst intentional destabilization.

If some protesters got beat up just for camping out in a park, what exactly will happen if real demands were made? I think we all know bloodshed is only one angry politician away. How many Americans are willing to jump into such an affair? Few.

Eventually there will be a one or a group that makes an impression and rouses the flock to action. History awaits its inductee/s.

Shouldn't have talked. This guy took his risk, and then made it worse because he couldn't keep his fucking mouth shut.

I would like to think that wikileaks are keeping their best move for a critical time which would be the smart thing to do. If they do have information that the government wants to keep from the public then they also know just how dirty things can really get. Obviously i would like to know what they have but they would be stupid to give up there only bargaining chip. Of course if they really have it.

Sacrifice? The guy released a bunch of essentially irrelevant information. We don't like the Russians. SHOCKING! There were civilian casualties in Afghanistan. UNHEARD OF!

Sacrifice? More like angsty temper tantrum/cry-for-attention fake suicide attempt/martyr complex. There's no evidence of noble intention... just a Cluster-B having a nasty breakup with his employer.

Lol at the amount of ignorance on what was actually released and the actual effect it had on our garbage journalists that suddenly had something to say about the war(beyond the usual "support da troops" banter).

I'd like to know what your opinion is on the release of the Pentagon Papers if you think Manning is some cry baby fame-whore who released some insignificant shit, including the video that the US claimed never existed, showing them executing 2 Reuters journalists. (and what war trumpet you're hearing all this from).

    Just the first part.

He released a lot of insignificant shit and some significant shit, and the significant shit was probably just luck, as the incredible volume of the release means he couldn't possibly have reviewed even 1% of it. I'm not defending the government or the content of the leaks, just saying that Manning isn't some righteous fight da powah crusader for justice. If someone were to drive drunk and accidentally run over Fred Phelps, it wouldn't make them a hero, even though the world would be better off.

I just don't see too many actual "heroes" in this game. Even though he didn't end Vietnam, he still did what was right in exchange for his life, basically. It's hard to compete with slaying old man Binny and his heavily armed harem, but America always favors the anti-heroes anyways lol
