    Looking for reliable site hosting

I've been trying to get my portfolio online over the weekend, but the one web host I attempted (MochaHost) is a pain in the ass so I'm curious what web hosting services people would recommend. I'm looking for a site that can support HTML, PHP, ASP.NET, and JSP.

    Thanks in advance.

GoDaddy and Dreamhost usually have a good reliability history vs pricing for small-medium sites.

Hmm, no matter what JSP support is going to require a virtual or dedicated server it looks like.

Might be forced to pay extra for that since my current provider is giving me a hard time with connecting to my database through a Java program I wrote.

I use Nixihost for mine, and I like them a lot.

They're cheap, give receipts, and actually respond (promptly!) to emails... unlike my last host. Don't know much about the tech side though, my needs are pretty basic.

No idea if it's still the same, but that experience made me back off from any US webhost. Nowadays I got my own box from www.linode.com (can't rave enough about them), but that would be overdoing it for your purpose.

http://www.justhost.com/ by far the best web hosting company I've tried (godaddy, fatcow, and others). I recommend it to all my clients.

I totally agree with Godaddy being a complete clusterfuck (although was pretty reliable). I moved everything to namecheap.com a few months ago and I'm really happy with them.

Sorry for the bump, but I just told my host to piss off and looking. And after my experiences with them I have one vital question:

For those of you that use your databases, how easy is it to connect to them through something like Dreamweaver or hard coding a Java/C# application? My previous host was so ass backwards with their database system I actually had to change my IP to access my database. And if that wasn't bad enough, even after doing that I couldn't access my database through Dreamweaver when I was making a PHP page.
