    Space Brothers

Summary: When they were young, the brothers Mutta and Hibito promised each other they would become astronauts. Now, in 2025, Hibito has followed his dream to become the first Japanese on the moon, but Mutta has just been fired from his job. His brother reminds him of their childhood promise, and Mutta decides once again to aim for space.

It's already been like 28 episodes and there's no topic, but fuck it I love this show.

Hands down easily one of the top 3 shows that's aired in the last 28 weeks! Consistently funny, well written, and heart-string pulling. Albeit, I have an older brother myself, so that might be sentimental value speaking there. Regardless, love this show

Edit: The other 2 shows that I think are top 3 if anyone cares, Sakamichi no Apollon and Hyouka, and surprise surprise, all 3 are from our ridiculously good Spring season

Commie and Horriblesubs both do it. Either one is good.

The subbed manga and anime episodes seem to be about neck and neck right now. The anime is well worth it though!

The non-scanned manga is on volume 18, and the scanned manga/anime's latest episode are currently on volume 6/chapter 55. So yeah, the manga is leaps and bounds ahead

Very justifiable, this show is amazing. I spoiled things for myself though, I read up to the current release of the scanlated manga, which is I would guess very roughly 10~15 episodes ahead of where the anime is.

Armagawd, manga update this week is epic. I'm scared though the manga is barely ahead of the anime

The raws are still about 60 chapters ahead of the scanlated chapters and the anime too I guess. So if they keep going at the roughly 2 chapters per episode pace, we still have a good 30~45+ episodes until they meet up.

But I agree. The last 2 scanlated chapters were dope. Mutta and Kenji being bros again, and then the evaluation comments at the very end

Also if you like space bros, check out Moonlight Mile. It aired a few years ago and nobodys heard of it - but it's really fucking good ( space anime sort of similar vein to space bros but a lot faster paced ).

I dunno how many of you are keeping up with this series, but the last 3 episodes have been absolute home-runs. And the next one should be really fantastic too! That entire bar scene between the brothers a couple episodes ago, so fucking good.

Based on the most recent episode, I think the anime may be done (for now at least). 99 episodes is a pretty strong run, and it was also getting very close to the source material too. Great last episode, left it very much open ended for a potential continuation. And easily one of my most favourite anime of all time. Absolutely love it and I really hope that once the manga creates a nice big buffer that it'll pick up again in a couple years.

Seriously good and really recommend it to anyone wanting a bit of a slice of live/coming of age/space themed anime that isn't based on highschool kids and over the top, non-realistic sci-fi elements. Really great, heartfelt characters that seem very realistic and not just cliche anime tropes. And a solid story to tell too. Can't rave about this anime enough

Been almost a year I guess? Hell of a ride, got your significant feels every 1-2 episodes and the story/characters are spot on. I completely agree that it has been a great show and I've enjoyed every minute of it.

There's still the movie coming out right?

The live action movie is already on DVD I'm pretty sure. I dunno about an anime movie though. And nearly 2 years now, 99 episodes at 1 per week roughly. It had a really good run
