    Been taking my daughter for swim lessons, saw a sign up for a free lesson because I guess this group every year does the "world's largest swim lesson" across the world where all these centers participate at the same time. Signed up for it initially thinking, "Hey that's nifty, and she gets a free lesson out of it." Now I'm thinking, "Damn...I don't want to have to drive through that..."

    13 months!

    She's having a blast with them, and moved from beginner's to intermediate after only two lessons (which was only a little sad as we're doing it with a friend and the friend's kid hasn't upgraded yet. ><; )

    my parents tried to make me take swim lessons at the YMCA. I simply didn't go. I taught myself about a year later since all my friends were doin the damn thing and i was in the shallow end not doing a damn thing

    My daughter has been kicking since the moment she was conceived. (Even gave me blood clots while preggo because of her abuse!) They have what's called "parent and me" classes which is great for bonding, and fun for them. The beginners class is really just about them getting used to going under water and floating with their ears in the water. The place I take her to is centered around babies. The water is heated to like 86 degrees, there's floating bath toys in it, tons of changing tables, etc.. God it was nerve racking for me though for the intermediate. In beginners, we would put them slowly under the water and back up. Now, we put them under the water and let them go for a few seconds. @.@; She loved it...

    LOL so true. I just thought of it, the place we go to is super busy on weekends, and I don't think I've seen any blacks or hispanics. Mostly white and a few asians...


    If she hated it, I honestly would stop taking her. But I am glad she likes it. I take her to the pool all the time so the more safe she is, the better.
