    Monk details?

    Just wondering what stat Monks should be focusing on outside of Strength. I was assuming skill speed would be really good, but I'm seeing accuracy and crit might be better? And which Grand Company should I be joining to maximize potential out of monk gear?

    As far as we have information for, your GC gear won't be very relevant outside of a piece you may wear to bridge an easily crossed gap.

    STR, Crit, Determination/VIT, Skill Speed. I think almost all of the gear in the game has VIT but it might be a good stat to grab via melds if content requires your HP be higher. We don't have solid information on accuracy yet either but with how important not missing specific skills is, (and the RNG is non-specific) I would shoot for higher. We'll know that sort of thing when we can fight Dungeon/Raid level mobs and get a specific idea of how accuracy will scale when we're not downleveled.

    You don't really ever miss in the content that has been available in the betas. Actually, the only times I remember missing was when I killed mobs 5 or 6 levels above my level. Accuracy may be useful in end game raids but for now I'd just focus on STR.

    Skill speed does not seem very efficient as a stat, either and I don't believe we really know how useful crit is.

    I remember someone did ACC testing on an earlier Beta, so I'm not sure if stats/modifiers got tweaked. They found that ACC wasn't a problem for mobs in the same level area; however, if you went after something that was ~12+ levels higher than you ACC went down dramatically. It was the same for mobs, if a mob was ~12+ levels lower than you, it was missing a lot more. That said, I didn't really find any mobs that were that high a level if you were Lv.50 cap. Of course please take it with a grain of salt, as things could have changed.

    Need large amounts of skill speed for it to have a noticeable impact. This will be more common at 50 I think.

    How did 1.0 do with regards to the TP/WS system? Even during P3, the long FATEs that occur had me starving for TP eventually (Lv30). At higher levels with more access to more skill cooldowns, wouldn't you just be running out of TP even faster? Were there TP+ gear or faster TP regeneration of some sort?

    In 1.0, you started battles with 0 TP, so it was more like FFXI where you were just punching while waiting for your TP to build to the point where you could blast your weapon skills. Also, combos used to cost zero TP beyond the first skill, so it's not really worth comparing the two at all.

    Yes, it's not terribly difficult to run out of TP now, given a long enough period of time. Your TP regen is likely based off of your max TP, just like HP/MP, but there aren't any items in the game yet that increase your maximum TP.

    Didn't pushing heavily for Skill Speed not help Monk much because maintaining Greased Lightning III is a massive drain on TP, even when conserving, and can't be held up indefinitely without some sort of significant boost in TP regeneration (Army's Paeon, etc.)

    Doesn't SCH's support fairy have skill speed+30%? That'll immediately put some power into your +skillspeed gear.

    With most of regular DL equipped(Not accessories) and GreasedIII my GC was almost 2 seconds. With how the new system works I don't think it's so much of "which stat to stack" as much of "which materia to use?" If it's dungeon gear it's usually obvious which is best, but if using crafted just stack all the main stats for Mnk in your materia slots. Str,Crit,Det,Skill Spd, and of course, Piety which will make your Elemental Fists more potent.... >.>

    You have no choice but to stack STR; primary stats are omnipresent on most classes' gear except in the potential case of tanks, who might have to choose between one piece with only VIT and another piece with STR/VIT on it.

    Just need one of GLA or LNC (not sure which), but both jobs allow for cross-class abilities.
