Those terms are a joke, I know several people who have large followings on youtube/twitch that can't/won't stream that because of the monetization rules. I'm talking TotalBiscuit and itmeJP (I'm sure there are many more), people who actually like the game and would basically be giving it free advertising to a massive userbase (mostly TB) but now aren't even gonna bother because that's how they make their living.

I realize that a lot of those terms don't affect the average person because most people that stream for fun aren't even partnered with twitch and in general people who are gonna be putting up videos for fun don't run ads but SE seriously shot themselves in the foot in regards to reaching an audience that they may not have otherwise reached.

They did forget, because that was the original policy.

It's good that they backed off on that. However, the original policy made TotalBiscuit throw another bitchfit, so I guess I'm happy for that.

Now that video is gone, and the other videos are back up.

I have a bunch of WoW videos, but I never monetized them because Youtube's ToS specifically says you can not monetize video game footage.

I guess FFXIV is an outlier now since they specifically state you can.
