Non-convertible gear and spiritbonding

Is there any point to non-convertible gear having spiritbond? AK gear and whatnot are non convertible, yet gain SB, but Darklight gear is also non-convertible but doesnt gain spiritbond.

Eventually SE might make them convertible. They did with primal weapons in 1.0 (though that has been reverted now).

DL does gain spiritbond, it's just based on ilvl and coil is the only place with mobs high enough to build it. It's useless though so not like it matters.

Ooooooh makes sense since ive never been there, thanks. Also what do you mean by useless? If it was convertible and yielded materia wouldnt that be useful?

Its not convertible, so it doesn't matter. But if it was, the only mobs strong enough to build spirit bond are in the coil.
