So i'm trying to set the mac mouse to have secondary button on the right click. I can do a defaults write, and give it the correct value and everything, but it never seems to update. I can also take the .plist file out of Preferences, set the mouse to Primary/Primary and put the plist back in and it won't work until I open up System Preferences..kind of like the mouse won't update itself until you open up that window and click the mouse settings. Is there any method to get the mouse to update itself or even restart the usb bus?

If I unplug the mouse and plug it back in, it gets the proper settings from the .plist...
