FFXIV ARR & NVIDIA (GTX 770) Advice

Figured id put this here for now instead of the FFXIV section.

Im a new Nvidia user. Iv been using AMD for the better part of the last 10+ years but decided to drop the HD7970 and got the Gigabyte GTX 770 4GB.

Im running a 27" Monitor with a resolution of 2560 x 1400. It is overclocked to run at 110Mhz.

I would appreciate if anyone could advise me on the current best drivers and settings (in game and outside if needed) to get this game running as smooth and beautiful as possible. Iv been running it currently on Standard Desktop settings because of how badly the AMD card has been running so im looking forward to it looking as good as some of the SS iv seen.

    Thanks!

I use the latest beta drives on a 660ti (underclocked to stock speeds because sometimes it doesnt like overclocks) and I play on max with zero issues at 1080p. gulkeeva will probably know which settings are best since he is the person I know who runs at 1440p

Using the latest nvidia beta drivers on a 670 overclocked (can't recall the numbers since I'm at work). Game runs fine for me on maximum settings.

Only thing thats slowed my game down sub 30fpsish almost is the odin/behemoth fates.

Other then maximum settings, you can try sweetfx. I've not mssed with that myself as it can messup your gaming if done incorrectly (and it seems to need to be adjusted per game update or something?).

(can't wait for the 800 series nvidia early hopefully 2014)

I run a 680 slightly oc'd @ 2560x1600 max settings using 326.80 beta drivers with no issues. My previous driver would give me a display driver crash every day or two. Game runs perfectly fine, doesn't take much to run.

Cheers guys. Got the GPU setup and running on the latest drivers. Have my monitor running at 120mhz as well. Its a 1440p Korean brand.

I seem to be struggling to get above 40fps while idleing for example in Mor Dhona. I would have imagined i would get much higher frames? Current ingame settings are maximum, in full screen mode with 2560 x 1440p @ 120mhz. I have forced V-Sync in the Control panel of the Nvidia Driver programe for FFXIV not sure if that would affect it.

Overall i thought the game would look much better but i can barley see a difference between Standard PC Settings that i was using on the AMD HD7970. Only improvement i have noticed is the shadows. Below is a log from GPU-Z while in the game

what cpu and at what clock speed? Turn vsync off. Also, this isn't one of the prettiest games so you aren't going to get too much from a gpu upgrade, try checking out something like BF3 or Metro, something really gpu intensive.
