How is it that I'm getting outparsed so bad?

I got a 15.1%, the SAM got 14.5% and the dragoon lower but I forgot what it was. The other two MNKs which also had Oatixur and similar/the same gear as me scored higher, one scored 19.1% and the other scored like 30 something % each bee run. I'm fully merited as well. I didn't use food for the first couple runs but I used a red curry bun and still only got 15.1%...what am I doing wrong? I use berkserk, aggressor, warcry, impetus, focus, ect so I'm using all my JAs like I'm supposed to. I am missing windbuffet belt though, could that be the reason? I'm using twilight belt and the haste is useless since I capped haste on other pieces of gear.

Warcry, lol. Though the fact you even consider that 1% QA and 2% TA might be the reason why you're doing HALF as much damage as the other MNK means you probably have some serious serious problems. First off, you probably have awful accuracy, being slow at weapon skills, not actually using buffs properly, likely using boost and slowing dps further, etc. Mind you if the drg is doing even less, you're probably all awful.

Augmented AF2+2 pants for extra 15 secs on HF? Wearing AF3+2 body during Impetus? ACC up to snuff? I typically use pizza on Ceizak due to zone mob-evasion+ msgs. And you should be always using food in Delve.

I have AF2 +2 legs augmented but not the body. I didn't see the other MNKs use the body either *shrug*...but I think accuracy is a major issue though I don't know how since all my skills are capped. I need whirlpool mask too for that hefty accuracy +25. I'm using crappy Otronif Mask at the moment with augmented accuracy +4 which I just did tonight. I had attack +7 on it but it seems I need the accuracy more. Other than whirlpool mask and windbuffet belt my MNK is pretty perfect imo...I have to work on AF2 +2 body too but eh like I said I didn't see the other MNKs use it. It sucks I'm so broke right now, need to do some skirmish and get some +2 verdigris stones. And I'll probably eat sushi while I do bee run again or any delve.

EDIT: Oh you said AF3+2 body, yeah I have that, didn't use though. I will.

If you want to parse, run kparser with everything unfiltered. You'll get a much better account for your/everyone's total acc, dmg, etc, per mob, and can see where y'all are weak. I regularly did this for my ls to show them how particular NMs went (and there was some mighty improvement over the course). Though I'm always cor, so the chat log could mostly be ignored (set pt/ls/say/shout on hold to keep them from scrolling by with all the chatlog spam).

A nice thing about kparser is the graphing feature. It's so good since it visually shows how well you did over time instead of just a flat number at the end. Can select a mob to see how well you did for the duration. Possibly, you might parse low at the end due to a KO in the middle; you can see how well you were doing up until that KO compared to everyone else by just looking at the graph lines. It's so handy. Not saying that was what happened for you btw, but it's a nice way to still get some performance info out of a fight with KOs.

Add: in fights where you couldn't kill the mob, ending the parse will mark the end of the fight, otherwise it'll continue to count time until it reads the "has been defeated" message. So, like during a delve run, start parse upon zone in and make sure to end it upon time/zone out. Or like in legion, mobs with the same names pop in multiple waves/runs, parse can get weird if you don't catch the defeated message (might think two mobs in different waves/runs are one mob every once in a while).

i dont have any of that augmented AF, never mind any AF3+2, I always win parses on DRK or MNK if im DDing. WSing as close to 100% as possible (hitting the ws macro like a few secs before you think youll hit 100%, this takes some practice), during hundred fists make sure you hit hundo as the last JA you need to hit as to have as little interuption onthe hundred fists as possible. when you dont have hundred fists active (yes about half the wins im a part of these days dont use hundred fists at all) then having gearsets for all situations is key.

Another problem might be your spellcast

Generally the solution to cases like these is simply sucking less. It's often not a gear issue and more of a player issue. (Keeping buffs up, wsing in a timely manner, etc)

Why am I losing this parse? I WS at 200~% and take another 10 seconds to switch back to my TP gear. Don't worry though I ALWAYS boost before WSing.

Darkmagi, I don't suck I do keep buffs up and WS as soon as I can but I do lag a lot in delve or any place with a lot of activity going on. I need a better computer. The lag prevents me from doing my best because it'd take like an extra few seconds to use a JA or WS than someone who isn't lagging. I should also eat food while in delve to help with accuracy.

If you don't have a top rated computer you aren't taking this game serious enough.

Uh yeah if you say so. I am poor and have health problems and am on disability. I don't have the money for luxury things like top of the line computer parts. I can barely even afford the monthly charge of FFXI. My dad is working though, he was out of work for like 3 months and its a miracle we still have a roof over our heads. Maybe for Christmas I'll ask for better computer parts.

Not going to say you need a good computer but that probably is making a decent difference on the parse. That said this is this is a game designed to play on the PS2 you don't really need top of the line. Maybe top of the line 6 years ago parts but not todays. From the sounds of it it sounds like you lag in the same way my old comp did before I upgraded. And I got that just a few months before NA release and my 4 year old comp let's me fish on 2 characters while doing delve on a third just fine. So I think/hope bechyni was exagerating a little.

If you're having slowdowns, filter all visual effects besides stuff the mob uses, turn shadows off if they're on, lower the resolution, and crank down the animation frame rate. My shitty 6 year old Mac does 30fps no sweat in Delve with the appropriate steps. Also check your video drivers.

Bad computer is a terrible excuse. Until recently I was fulltime dualboxing delve on a laptop that shouldn't even be running this game. I was literally 5-15 FPS and still managed to top/near top every single parse. If you're doing HALF the damage as another DD, you're simply bad and need to massively step it up. No gear will fix that.

Should post your full gear sets for some feedback. But like most others said, my money is on lack of food and not being responsive enough for whatever reasons.

Is this low fps or actual input lag? Input lag will kill any chance of you doing your best (hit macro, see it happen 2-5 seconds later while everything pauses and fast-forwards constantly), but low fps isn't too much a problem with this game unless it's single digits or less.

i have a 5 year old mac, i lag terribly sometimes. yet ive managed to solo stun all three delve zones multiple times as sch. put <supersampling>0.5</supersampling> in your settings xml in the windower folder. this is required for me ever since the windower3->4 conversion. ill use up to 3 foods per delve. Hydra kofte +1 for scorp twith and chapuli -> riverfin soup for mastop(since i usually use sword) -> magmasteak for the rest. i win parse even when i use sword.

edit: if you absolutely need the extra help with the lag, google search for Mob filter. other than that post your sets.

Others have already made good points, and certainly some of it is making sure you're doing the best YOU can do. But a couple other considerations that people sometimes overlook that can be outside of your control:

    1) Are your buffs equal to the other DDs' buffs? If your MNK is getting stomped by a MNK in your party, that's one thing. But if your party is getting lesser quality buffs than another DD party, that can skew results big time. Maybe the other DD party has BRD+COR and yours has BRD only (and your alliance isn't rotating support jobs), maybe your support jobs are slacking on timely hastes or not erasing important debuffs (infuriating, but I run into some pretty poor support jobs in random pickup shouts), maybe you're in a party with a non Relic/Empy BRD and the other DD party has a Relic BRD, maybe your COR is rolling unlucky numbers and leaving them up while the other DD party's COR has double XIs, etc.

    2) Make sure you're parsing normal damage and not considering some of the special NM weakness gimmicks. For example, if you have one or two MNKs doing Formless to kill the Mata, they're going to get greatly inflated total damage numbers from those 60k+ hits. Or if one MNK is holding the Mata and doing almost no damage while other DDs are busy killing the other NMs, that skews things. Or if a couple MNKs get off huge WS on Faded Cracklaw, that could be a pretty significant difference. This is why it's generally more useful to reset a parse after the gimmick NMs to get a true sense (something like a boss-only parse is quite helpful, as opposed to an entire run parse).
