My wife and I just bought a nice media mantel for our living room and we can't put it in our living room until we have a new TV. That being said, I'm curious what's good now-a-days.
At the moment I have a 50"-55" LG and it's done well over the years, I'm going to keep it for another room in the house.
It's been a while since I've been looking at TVs, but we're looking to get a 40"-45" something. I want it to have at least 2 USB ports, and built in wifi isn't a must, but I would prefer it. Do TVs have as much success in playing filetypes? At the moment I have a WDTV and I have yet to find anything it won't play. I'm just wondering if I need to keep it in the same room as well or not.
Are there much differences in brand names now-a-days? Plasmas seem to be the least expensive at the moment, but I'm not really drawn to them for some reason. LCDs and LEDs seem to be comparatively priced so I'm just wondering if there's much difference in functionality.
I'm concerned that I'm not going to have enough ports on the TV for the 3-4 devices. The ones I was looking at the other day at Costco only seemed to have 2 HDMI ports and one component input. My current TV has an extra set of ports on it I think. I may just be worried for nothing.
Sorry if this should have been put in a better spot, I did a quick search to see if there was a post already about this, if there is, I can read through it. Just let me know where abouts to find it.
