    Calcitrant Sole Testing

    Calcitrant Stole test

    Mnk/thf
    no gear swaps
    Footwork active
    Feet: Hermes Sandals
Skill: 391 with Tantra hands on

    Base damage: 43+3 = 46
    Footwork bonus: 46+18 = 64
    fStr: 10

    Total nominal base damage: 74

Max crit at nominal base: 233
Max crit with +5 dmg: 248
Max crit with +10 dmg: 264

Max observed crit (20 samples): 247
Higher frequency results starting at 237 (79*3)

Assessment: Calcitrant stole is +5 kick damage.

As such, it is strictly better than Faith Torque (assuming you have Tantra +2 hands) as long as accuracy remains capped (if accuracy is not capped, Agasaya is the better option). It is not as good as Rancor Collar, but is generally a better choice when the +damage taken is a concern.

How do you figure that? D+5 on kicks, kicks being D49* from skill, D+45 from Tantra+2 is a 5.3% dmg gain on kicks, kicking at on average (13% trait + 5% merits + 6% Tantra+2 legs) *1.1(5/5 tantra bonus) 26.4% of attack rounds.

Alternatively, Faith + Tantra hands + Bruiser Earring is D50 (396+16+7+7+3 = 429), given vere90's D+35, you gain 1.1% on hand hits (Given Epona Brutal /WAR, avg for 100 rounds being ~246 hits) and 1.06% on kicks (again, 26.4% of attack rounds).

Given 100 rounds, gain 1.1% on 246 hits and 1.06% on 26.4 hits, or gain 5.3% on 26.4 hits. Also to consider, 16 attack (Kickneck + aesir) vs 9acc/att (faith + bruiser).

If there is something I'm missing please point it out, but faith+bruiser looks like a clear winner to me.

    *396 Skill + 16 Merits + 7 skill hands, 419 total *0.11 + 3 = 49. I'm fairly sure the +18 in place of the +3 only applies to footworking, correct me if needed.

Edit: This: http://www.bluegartr.com/threads/105...=1#post4805883 covers it a lot better.
