Unresolved Glitch with Mythic Quest "Coming Full Circle"

If you want the full version of the story, view the spoiler I have below; it is a copy/paste of what I posted on the official forums in an attempt to look for some advice or ideas.

    The short story:
    (1) My account was compromised in December 2013; while compromised, my Ryunohige was dropped.
    (2) I attempted to have my account rolled back; after waiting 5 months and contacting SE several times, I gave up on the rollback occurring.
    (3) I had never completed the quest "Coming Full Circle".
    (4) When attempting to start a new mythic, I get a message from Abquhbah stating that "the trade cannot be completed while in possession of a Serpentking Zahak Relief Shard (temporary key item)", and that I must finish the quest "Coming Full Circle before I can proceed.
    (5) I have spoken with Abquhbah, Imperial Whitegate (no weapon/ammo equipped), and Seaprince's Tombstone at least a dozen times each, both while on DRG and on different jobs.
    (6) I keep getting the same message that I cannot complete the trade to start a new mythic, and that I must finish the quest whenever I try to trade a Brave Blade to Abquhbah.

I fear that for some reason the final cut scenes are not triggering because I no longer have the completed mythic in my possession. This seems odd since you don't even need to have the mythic equipped during the final cutscenes with the Imperial Whitegate and Abquhbah.

If anyone can potentially provide any assistance, I would greatly appreciate it.

    Spoiler: show

Hello all, and thank you in advance for scanning through my issue.

I am currently experiencing a glitch with the Mythic Weapon quest "Coming Full Circle". My problem breaks down into two primary issues: (1) My account was compromised in December 2013, which lead to my Ryunohige being dropped; and (2) I never completed the quest "Coming Full Circle" for my Ryunohige, and I am now barred from starting new mythic weapon quests.

    I. Regarding compromised account.

I started up school again in August 2013, and accordingly cancelled my account. When I reactivated my account in December 2013, I logged in and quickly noticed that all of my gil was gone, all rare/ex items in my main inventory were gone (I was fully geared on DRG when I logged off in August), and all items that could be NPC'd or sold were gone from all storage units I had.

It was pretty clear that my account had been hacked, and whomever did so simply dropped everything in my main inventory to make space. My main inventory included a completed Ryunohige (mythic polearm).

I contacted Square-Enix and initiated an account rollback. After I provided them with the affidavit and forms they required, I waited five (5) months to no avail. I contacted customer support on six (6) separate occasions, and every time they responded that the rollback had not yet taken place.

Fast-forward to the present. I finished school for the year and decided to cut my losses on the mythic and cancel the rollback. I understand that Square-Enix may not be able to actively devote that much time to FFXI character rollbacks, and I respect that. Thus, I reactivated and started playing again at the beginning of May 2014.

II. Regarding in-game glitch with the mythic quest "Coming Full Circle"

After reactivating, I decided it would be fun to make another mythic. Pursuant to the well-understood procedures for obtaining a mythic, I obtained a Brave Blade and attempted to trade it to Abquhbah. When I tried to trade the weapon, I was met with the message that the trade cannot be completed while in possession of a Serpentking Zahak Relief Shard (temporary key item).

I then realized that I never fully completed the quest "Coming Full Circle" for my Ryunohige. I also no longer possess a Ryunohige since it was dropped when my account was compromised. Nevertheless, I changed to dragoon and proceeded to interact with all potential NPC's and objects for the end of the mythic quest line (Tombstone in Mire, Imperial Whitegate at least 25 times, repeated attempts to trade the Brave Blade to Abqubah, etc.). I did not have a weapon or ammo equipped while attempting to interact with the Imperial Whitegate.

I am further confused as to why I cannot complete the quest, since you are actually supposed to not have any weapons equipped when talking to the Imperial Whitegate, unless the game somehow recognizes if you have the mythic on your character or not.

    III. Suggested Remedies

I have little to no programming experience; however, the following two solutions seem like relatively simple ways to fix this glitch:

    (1) Allow players to dispose of the temporary key item "Serpentking Zahak Relief Shard" when they trade a new mythic weapon to Abqubah; or
    (2) Allow the "Coming Full Circle" quest interactions to activate without the mythic weapon equipped.

    IV. Conclusion

It appears that my character cannot create another mythic because: (1) I never completed the quest "Coming Full Circle", and (2) I no longer possess my mythic Ryunohige due to my account being compromised.

This issue could be resolved by allowing players to dispose of the "Serpentking Zahak Relief Shard."

Thank you again for reading through my issue, and I would sincerely appreciate any potential assistance regarding this matter.

    Sincerely,
    Warden

**Update 5/24/14 - It seems quite likely that the reason I cannot finish "Coming Full Circle" is because the final cutscene at the Imperial Whitegate is where the NPC's try to take the mythic weapon away from you; thus, it seems safe to assume that you need the mythic on your character for that to trigger.

Screwed yourself by cancelling it. Have you tried to apply for a rollback again? It can take a good while but other than that you're SOL here.

He applied for the rollback 5 months after he got hacked, that may be the reason why SE can't do it. Friends told me they only keep their character data for 3 months or something.

if you can't get a full rollback, why not ask for an item restore

Thank you for all of the ideas; I appreciate them.

    (1) GM's said they can't restore an item that was dropped greater than 7 days ago. The GM I contacted when I first logged back in and saw that items were missing said that the Ryu couldn't be restored at all (he made no mention of any 7 day limit).
    (2) I didn't wait 5 months to initiate the rollback; I initiated the rollback in December 2013 (my account was compromised sometime between August 2013 and December 2013), and then just gave up this past May 2014.

But yeah, I'm inclined to agree that a rollback or SE altering the way Coming Full Circle functions (or allowing a character to truly reset/abandon the quest) are the only ways to resolve the problem). I can pretty much only play over the summer anyway, so I figured I would rather enjoy the portion of time that I can play, as opposed to continuing to wait beyond 5 months hoping for SE to do the rollback. It's unlikely SE will alter the way the quest works, so it kind of sounds like Ill just have to accept that I won't get my mythic back, and am not capable of making another one due to the blocked quest.

Initiate rollback, register a mule, make RME bard just in time for your ryuno to come back, profit!

I mean, if your account was hacked in August and you initiate rollback in Dec, they may lost your character data before your Mythic dropped. They only keep their data for 3 months.

They *guarantee* they keep your data for that long, but in reality in most situations they keep for way longer.

tbh, I'm not sure hounding them for the restore is still less effort than another mythic.
