Anyone else excited for this? Comes out tomorrow. This game is one of the reasons I bought a ps4 when they first showed it during a ps4 expo.

Going to have VR support on PC.
That's amazing. I may have to considering actually buying a new PC just for this. Now I'll justh ave to figure out how to afford it.
Was on the fence because of the price, but decided there aren't very many games with this amount of puzzle depth so what the hell. Hoping it meets expectations.
I was also on the fence over the price, and honestly Braid isn't my type of game but I appreciate it a bunch. I am however a huge fan of games such as myst and the neverhood and this reminded me a lot of them. Then the reviews came out and basically the only people that score it negatively all admit they aren't huge puzzle fans and it's resting at a nice 89 for the ps4 version on metacritic.
My problem is that I"m broke until the first and have to convince myself to not spend my savings on it!
Got it on PC and played for about an hour so far. Not a huge amount to say, it's a puzzle game with pretty aesthetics. Not sure if it's honestly worth $40, but we'll see.
Note for the PC version though, the game is hard coded at 1920x1080 and requires ini tweaks to play at other resolutions, so beware if have a monitor with a different resolution.
Only a few hours in, but first impressions are that this is a fun puzzle game and is really enjoyable. If you enjoy the kind of puzzle solving from games like Myst, Fez, or La-Mulana this seems to be along those same lines in terms of puzzle depth. As Krandor said, it's a puzzle game with pretty aesthetics, but if you like that kind of thing then this is a good game.
Was stuck on a puzzle for 30min, then came to the realization that I had to turn the brightness up a tad to see some grey on black because my small TV is budget-tier and can't into black levels.
Anyways, game seems alright thus far in my couple hours of play, $40 really is a bit steep but I've been waiting years on this to come out so I said fuck it. Just wish there was a quicker means of getting around on PS4, unless I unlock something akin to that later on in the game.
I can also appreciate the minimalist nature of the game, but at the least give me some controller options, you turn so slow in it on PS4 and the only thing you can do is flip the y-axis. I don't know if the PC end is any better or worse.
[EDIT] Another three hours later and I realized it's nearly 5am.
There's a 'sprint' button but it barely moves you any faster, and there's a boat that can take you around the island.
Pirated it to try it out, sunk about 3 hours into it thus far, so I'm done until I buy it. Puzzles can get pretty goddamn brutal. I'll definitely buy it, but I'm still a little torn on being worth $40 vs waiting for a sale. Not to say it's not a game that deserves normal retail price, I'm just stingy and very very rarely spend more than $20 on any game.
$20 would have been the sweet spot for this, and yeah, found that (slow) ride around the island. Game must be using prebaked lighting for the filesize it has given its simplistic aesthetic. The sound design is pretty spot on none the less.
Managed to clear two areas before calling it a night.
Spoiler: show
Bit annoying trying to find the tutorial puzzles at times, the island is pretty god damn big.
Played for about 5-6 hours and got two areas cleared. I love the game so far. I especially enjoyed the parts of the mini island (you take the boat to it) puzzles. It took me a while to figure out the main rule, and once they did they kept introducing new variations on old rules. But as long as you actually followed the rules to the t the puzzles always worked, even if normally they wouldn't seem like the correct solution.
Also has anyone else found any collectables yet? I was like whooooaaaa when I first found one.
In good/bad news I'm apparently running a fever, so I know what I'm about to do for 8 hours.

Finally activated the 7'th laser and am in the last area. It's nuts. Hell just getting solving the puzzle to get into the last area was crazy.
That puzzle plus theare some of the biggest bullshit I've run into so far.Spoiler: show
Also I caved in and bought it. Strong urge to continue plus the day off of work.
Really starting to get amazed at the detail in this game.
When you see it .... http://imgur.com/5FD1KDh <--- not a sploiler
So can someone spoil (in spoilers obviously or PM) what the plot in this game is about? I've been looking and can't find much. People are being mum about it. I enjoyed Braid enough, but honestly don't have that much time to put in a puzzle game right now. I just want to know the general plot and twist. Thanks!
Figuring out the plot is one of the core elements of the game. Absolutely nothing is explained (by design) and it's up to you to decipher it.
Rich and Jack's response to the Witness' ending (they didn't like it).
