Yo, anyone play this shit?

Can you explain Balazar and his monster summoning and Padrig to idiots who have never played this kind of card game before?

I have a bunch of other questions, too. But let's start with that since it's the most important need atm.

I used to play the card game, so I might be able to give some insight on the mechanic, if I could read the card texts; I don't recall those two monsters, off the top of my head. Generally, summoned monsters just went back into the box, but sometimes card text gets wonky on what it over-rides.

IIRC, Banish and Defeat are two separate game rule concepts, so you have to activate both the Defeat and Banish conditions, in order to add a card to your hand, using Balazar.

If you're asking if you can combo Padrig with Balazar, then it depends, but generally, you won't be able to add the cards banished from Padrig into your hand, via Balzar's ability. I believe the way it works is, that, if you use Padrig's ability to Banish a monster, you're not actually "Defeating" it, so Balazar's ability won't kick in. Balazar's ability has a Defeat + Banish condition, where as Padrig's ability isn't actually defeating the monster you use it on, so there's no way to add those monsters to your hand. Whatever monster Balazar is able to defeat, and then if it would be banished, then he can add it to his hand, including summoned monsters and villains.

Now, once you've legitimately defeated a monster, and added it to your hand, you can either use Balazar's secondary/third abilities or Padrig's banish ability, but you have to chose which one you're using when you banish said monster.
