FFXIV in a VM?

Anyone have any success running FFXIV in a (free) virtualization solution?
Tired of bringing using the work laptop to hit the 4 person requirement for airship construction,

I tinkered with Hyper-V, but the non-server version doesn't seem to let me get enough gfx power.

(the plan is to run FFXIV in the "native" win on the main computer, with a second incarnation running in a (ts?) vm on the same system).

Have a i7-3960x with 16GB memory, Win 8.1 Pro (for now) with a 980Ti.

why can't you just open 2 instances of it on your pc? unless i'm missing something.

i dunno why vmware wouldn't work though

I.. um.. .ehh.. I'm just going to be honest. It quite simply never occured to me that it would be that simple. Going to blame bad XI memories and spending too much time on virtual machines at work.

I have successfully ran FFXIV in a VM but if you are just trying to dual box, you can do that just fine without it.

What do you use to run 2 on the same machine? I looked on google before and found something you had to download and install, seemed a little sketchy.

I tested it after seeing D44kpunks post. I just ran the launcher again, logged in with a different account, and had two games running on the same computer.
