Spec Ops: The Line was one of the most divisive titles of the past five years and yet we’ve heard almost nothing from developer Yager since its 2012 release. It turns out the team has two new projects on the go.

As revealed yesterday, Yager is the developer behind Dead Island 2. Judging by the initial trailer, it looks to be taking a more lighthearted approach to the franchise than original developer TechLand, which has moved on to Dying Light and Hellraid.

But Yager also has another title in the works – Dreadnought, a game described as an “aerial armada” title for PC with a “tactical feel”. Players will command huge customisable ships in competitive or co-operative multiplayer as well as an episodic, story-driven campaign.

The Unreal Engine 4-powered title is expected in 2015 thanks to Grey Box, a new and mysterious publisher best known for Petroglyph’s upcoming Grey Goo.

Coming to PS4 in 2017

Developed for the PlayStation 4 system by lead-developer Yager and Iron Galaxy Studios under the direction of Six Foot and Grey Box, Dreadnought puts players in command of massive, powerful spaceships at the center of tactical team battles across a variety of competitive online multiplayer game modes. There are more than 50 playable vessels, each of which can be customized with a range of weapons, modules and cosmetic upgrades. There are five ship classes, specializing in vital roles like frontline assault, long-range bombardment, strategic support and more.

PC Open Beta begins, New Map - Ixion released

Situated in space 60,000 kilometers above Saturn’s largest moon, Titan, this new battleground forces players to maneuver around the colossal orbital ring that dominates its center. Narrow gaps within the superstructure allow ships to cross from one side to the other, but players must be wary of what dangers lurk on the other side.
