This is essentially Yakuza 8 (Yakuza was it's the american title to make it sound more edgy/appeal to the west, but now they're finally consistent with the Japanese title it's always been like a dragon in Japan. Of Kiryu's 7 games (including the prequel), he's only been in the yakuza for two of them)


Infinite wealth is the second entry into Ichiban's story (Kiryu is no longer the main character) and switching from action/beat em up to JRPG




i wanted to post this in the infinite wealth thread but there wasn't one so i'm making it now so here's what i wanted to comment in that thread if it already existed.

This was just announced today. It's it's own island so not on the same map as the regular game, and of course it's a rip off of animal crossing but just look at it, it's gorgeous and it looks way bigger than anything AC has ever done



For the switch 2 if Nintendo can't match this level of quality, they're never going to be able to justify a $70 price tag for the next AC entry

I only played 1 Yakuza game but my first thought was "Aren't those games super long? I'm surprised NG+ is so popular with them then"

I'm super looking forward to this. Like a Dragon was my introduction to Yakuza and it was a ton of fun, but I'm midway through Baldur's Gate 3 and I'm split if I put it on hold.

This thread didn't get much love after launch but this game was pretty much S tier IMO. My only complaint is semi spoilery but it involves pacing around the midway point.

Yeah I played 7 like 3 years late. and right now I am swamped in JRPGs. Hope to get to it later this year

It released at a really bad time for me with P3 Reload and FFVII ReBirth dropping back to back. I’ll get to it eventually…after I finish Like A Dragon. I just kinda quit on the last dungeon without motivation to finish.
