I watched a Youtube video about advanced civilizations too stupid to actually exist which recapped Riddick 1/2 pretty nicely. Riddick became the like, Leader of a space cult who worships space void or something. Probably not important.

I liked Pitch Black and Chronicles of Riddick, but I don't even remember there being a third movie, no idea how I completely missed it.

3rd movie was just called Riddick and I remember seeing it in theaters and thinking it was decent. I never saw the 2nd and I think Riddick was practically a stand-alone film you could watch without seeing either of the others.
