Google Carboard headset just in case?

I thought I'd ask. Been trying to locate a Google Cardboard headset. Don't know when GA will do a total lockdown so thought this was one way to be prepared.

So, any recommendations folks on a good one? Figure if I'm going to do this, I'll go all in.

What kind of phone/device will you be using? Do you have an existing controller?

With the discontinuation of Google daydream, cardboard has been changed to open-source, which means LOTS of options, but little support.

I hate recommending phone-based VR, since it is such a huge step down from something like Quest, or Rift.


Also, Google cardboard is kinda the opposite of going all in - lol.

Lol. I know. But it's a start. I have a Samsung Galaxy 7; right now my funds are limited, but I figure it's one way to get my toe into VR when I can't get my butt out of the house.

More than one way to escape if you know what I mean.

any $5-10 google cardboard kit will do the same job. i have used a $5 cardboard and even have an $80 Gear VR and theyre both the same thing rly. Go in with low expectations and you won't be disappointed, and when youre rdy get an oculus quest
