Now someone convince SE to bring DQX Offline to the west.
Get them to do this with War of the Visions and we might actually manage a half-decent FFT spin off.
I think I liked FFBE enough to give this a shot.
Now do Mobius.
Coming to PS5 as well
100% pirating this one. Brave Exvius got all the money out of me they will ever get. To turn around and then shut down the servers, so I can't even play it anymore. This will be my refund lmao
I'll post the press release later, but it says this is a remake of the first act of Brave Exvius
I spent so much money on FFBE. I also cheated, I used a bot that let me grind trust rewards from the 0NRG tutorial battle while idling.

I spent very little money on FFBE, but I also quit it almost 8 years ago. I remember enjoying it and the story, but it just became too much of a EXTREME POWER CREEP simulator and It wore on me... so a Single player experience sounds wonderful.

The first HD-2D game in the FINAL FANTASY series, FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE is a celebration of classic and modern FINAL FANTASY that evokes the beloved titles of yesteryear.
This tale of Crystals features a strategic turn-based battle system with a modern twist, the return of chocobos, espers and airships, in addition to appearances from beloved FINAL FANTASY characters such as Cloud, Tidus and the Warrior of Light – all presented in stunning, retro-inspired HD-2D graphics that push the limits of pixel art.
FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE is based on the first story arc of the mobile game FINAL FANTASY Brave Exvius. Far from just a direct port, it has been refined and extensively rebuilt as a full-fledged console-quality RPG experience.
FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE launches on Oct. 22, 2026, on Nintendo Switch™ 2, Nintendo Switch™, PlayStation®5, XBOX Series X|S and PC via Steam® and the Microsoft Store on Windows at a suggested retail price of US$49.99. A Digital Deluxe Edition of the game, which features the base game plus useful in-game items will be available for US$59.99. Finally, a Collector’s Edition of the game, which includes the base game and the Digital Deluxe Edition bonuses, as well as four unique physical items like an artbook, soundtrack and unique FINAL FANTASY TRADING CARD GAME promotional card, will retail for US$209.99.
I didn't get that much time into Mobius on its PC release before that shut down. Did it even have a story worth a damn? Most of the combat for the first 10hrs is just hitting auto-battle and then watching Youtube while it dripfed anything story-wise.
FFBE ran like hot garbage on my phone at the time, so I never got far enough into it. The new game will be an excuse to check it out since it seems to be a complete overhaul+retelling rather than a barebones "Offline mode" port.
It's sounding really fleshed out and the art looks fantastic, quite the glow up from FFBE. The site that shall not be named apparently got to play an exclusive 3 hours of it, sounds like it's got a real overworld with lots to do and secrets to find. I dumped more than I'd like to admit into FFBE, but I'll definitely be getting this day 1. We've all been asking for a return to roots for FF, time to show them we mean it.
Season 1 and 2 storylines were actually pretty good in FFBE. Season 3 fell off hard and I never bothered with 4 or whatever happened after, had done quit by then. Here's hoping we don't get nickel and dimed for DLC visions, but I'd be pumped for DLC that added additional seasons of the story if they don't plan on full new title releases for those. I believe I saw Charlotte as a vision so there may be more visions beyond FF protags.
I see you both are men of culture. 3rding this.
Kaisha, it was an interesting take on the whole warrior of light deal. I like Wol as a character. Didn't play as much of the second arc, but it'd be awesome if they did it for this. I'd be happy with them adapting the entire BE arc though.
As Malithar notes, season 3 got. . uh weird. I didn't even know it had a season 4. I kinda felt like by season 3, it was just intern-kun writing random stories as the only person left working on it.
The story was an interesting take and there's enough ambiguity in it to be explored. There was a lot of repetitiveness as with a lot of mobile games, but I think what really carried the game, imo, was the Wol-Echo dynamic and their bumbling through the worlds to figure out what's going on.
If there ever is a remake of it, it's something I hope they explore more of cause the careless, Dante-like Wol and seeing how he becomes the Wol we know in the series (if that's the case) would be cool to see.
Its been a while but I recall it being a somewhat reimagining of FF1 but only very loosely, kind like Strangers in Paradise but also not at all? Wol(Warrior of Light) is a Blank, there are many like him, but one is prophesied to become the savior of Palamecia. You wake up on Palamecia with amnesia and told you, maybe, will be the savior of Palamecia but Wol is having none of that shit and is kind of just a reluctant hero through most of the story.
Theres a lot of ambiguity(I realize I'm stealing that word from Zero) in the story and theres a lot that was left unsaid by the end. Theres Princess Sarah, Garland(who isnt even a 'bad guy') as well as the Mysterious Vox who we dont get a lot on his motivation but hes a voice that speaks to the blanks and tries to put them on the path of prophecy but maybe has ulterior motives.
I think it could definitely make an interesting story because there was so much left unsaid by the time it hit EOS, but honestly I just liked the Gameplay... maybe a little basic by todays standards but it was a fun game and I loved the card mechanics and Elemental drawing and such.
Wol was like a toned down version of Jack for SoP; less edge, but still equally over this bullshit.
Same on the gameplay. And some of the music.
