I must admit, lately I cannot even remember the last time I saw a gil seller on Ragnarok.
it's also chinese new year celebration around now... they'll be back in like a week :/
You know, they disappeared around this time last year for 1-2 weeks as well. Chinese New Year.
Could be, suppose we should give a week or so... then if their not back by then, we know SE's finally pulling the big guns out.

Not gonna happen.
Though, I find something intersting. If he was writing this on his normal My Life in Vana'diel column, I would also think it speculation. But this was posted as a news article, and given Milkman's access to the folks at SE, I have my reasons to believe this is more than just coincidence.
(edit: even further confirmed by this post in his personal blog)
I've already seen the posts on various message boards by "experts" and "those in the know" who attribute the disappearance of gilseller/farmers on servers across Final Fantasy XI to the Chinese New Year. Listen, I don't care how much parading the Chinese are doing in the streets, gilfarming is not exactly like going to a real 9-5 job, and it's not like it would be too taxing to come back to your PC and start playing a game again. So don't think the vanishment of the RMTs (real-money traders) is just coincidence. While there will always be people farming currency to sell of to resellers like IGE, trust me when I say I know that something is being done about this. For those of you that play FFXI, hang tight, I guarantee you'll hear something out of Square very soon.
Square got enough fundage from Christmas gil sale (SE owns IGE and the other off color gil sites if you didnt know) to cover thier next big MMO so they pulled the plug on the farmers, and made it so it looks like theyre heros.
Obviously SE has proven that they are, trully, the best company ever. I pray to them every night, and my prayers have come true.
For shame on all of you nay-sayers saying that SE would never do anything. We must embrace our rulers and thank the almighty God our savior that SE has finally made FFXI the best game ever.
Yes, the best, it always was, and now is so much more, first with making DRG 100x more powerful, and now taking away the gilfarmers.. I dont know whether to cry of happiness or celebrate.
The dark days are behind us now lads, raise your weapons and march into victory, FOR WE HAVE FINALLY TRIUMPHED!
PS. I hope you all realize im being sarcastic.
How kind of SE to ban gilfarmers AFTER they completely demolish any semblance of a balanced economy. Sorry SE, but in my eyes it'll always be too little...too late with you. Even when you succeed you fail.![]()
a gilseller was telling me that he was getting fired..then the next day i see all of his crew offline..
i figured it might be the chinese new year or maybe they got kicked out of their bussnies(sp)
then again, no one is at amemet, i went to camp it, few minutes later 2 ninjas 1 thf and 1 blm popped up killing every lizard, then i asked him the 1,000,000$ question...are you chinese?
He simply replaied by saying that he is japanese, so i talked to him in japanese and he asked me to talk in english, few seconds later he tells me he is chinese...not surprised lol
i think one of the members called sabrina..not to be mistaken with sabbrina from UDF..
why is sky still packed on asura with the RMT crew controlling the pops?
The RMT gang shout in jeuno if anyone wants to buy Haidate/Crimson etc off them for 40m a pop.
i forgot to mention, they were asking for PM 2-2 >.>.>.>.>Originally Posted by Lordwafik

Isnt it funny how it's always the NA who help RMT get through to sky/sea and shit?
I think I helped a gilseller with Kazam key lol. I was doing Desert swarm and he asked me to farm a key for him. Anyway skip to four months later, he nabbed poisonhand from me last week @lvl69 in full af with some really crappy NQ axes. >.<
you people can never be pleased![]()

You'll excuse me if I have a lack of faith in his opinion because the same thing happened one year ago yet Milkman appears to have no knowledge about this. What box was he hiding under? When the gil sellers were gone for a few days last year I actually had the same line of thought as him; surely gil sellers wouldn't disappear for such a long time just because of Chinese New Year, maybe they really are banned. Back on topic, Ifrit lost a huge crew of gilsellers a while back. They seemingly disappeared. However, even now, there are still gilsellers about. I see a party of them in SSG just by searching the area a moment ago.
And I remember last year also, there was some discussion about the gilsellers disappearing.. however there weren't as many as there are now anyways so it was kind of different.
Just watch, in one week you are going to see their lovable faces at every NM camp waiting to build up enough profit to sell currency to your favorite RMT mnk.
