BLM Manaburn in Uleguerand Range

So... I've seen a few screenshots of people getting exp here, from basically pulling 6 or 7 mobs and aga-ing them to death. This seems so much more appealing than spamming Fire4 on single-mob targets over and over for 6k/hr in KRT. But... I have no idea where to go in the zone, what setup to use, who pulls etc.

Anybody have any info?

Setup: Same as a 'normal' manaburn party, 5 BLM and 1 BRD. BRD pulls with Lightning or Ice threnody.

Also, Jorm is north of the circle thingy I made.

What does BRD pull? Just aggro everything he/she runs past?

Buffalos, Ice Elementals, and Aglooiks (sp?).


Edit: Try to bring a group of people who aren't idiots, you have to be pretty cautious to get up to the camp in one piece with all the true sight and magic aggro mobs around.

You can also camp the very center where the frozen lake is. Lots of bombs and buffalo, but there's only really enough to support one party.

BRD pulls with threnody and blms nuke nuke nuke.

Last time I went through a lot of things popped really low level, for some reason the exp wasn't as good as I remembered it.

I like leveling up there because it's less crowded than KRT, you don't get any nubcake manaburn to 75 ex-RNG parties camping on you. No monk parties either. ^^

XP'd there shortly after that area was introduced, only had a Chain #9 or something crappy like that but the numbers were pretty high, I think i remember 232xp on buffalo, pre-empress of course.

So, we just get the BRD to stoneskin and blink, take off sneak and run round getting aggro from all the mobs? Or... BRD pulls one and links others? Or just fighting one mob at a time.

I'm gonna head up there later to take a look around, just trying to get as much information as possible about it now :wink:

The party I had there was with a RDM, so it was one mob at a time... of course bombs aggro magic though so sometimes it turned into 3.

All my blm parties up there pulled one at a time. Brd threnodies, runs to the blms, casts ballad, runs out to pull the next.

I've never tried the -ga3 method, mostly because there just aren't enough mobs to support that kind of blm party. You'll run out too quick then just sit there waiting for repops.

If you're good you can just have 3 blms nuke while the other two rest, then whoever didn't have conserve MP kick in can sit when the mob's dead. Alternating resting/nuking like this on pulls keeps the downtime to about zero.

there have been so many parties recently at Uleguerand, on Midgardsormr anyways, maybe two Months ago, I would usually suggest our party to go to Uleguerand, because noone would ever go there to Experience, and then I took a month or so off of my Mithra Thief to level my Taru WHM, and just recently started to Experience my Thief again, and went back to Uleguerand and there was like one or two parties around level 60, and then five or six parties at level 75, I was surprised is all

i've seen UR packed with parties but only melees that kill demons, rarely if ever do i see anyone killing the bombs and elementals.

I tried making a manaburn up there once. I couldn't get enough people interested though. ;_;

I solo'd with my SMN on those bombs from like 68 to 74 ;;, now theres always at least 2 SMN up there >.> not counting the BLMs... so it runs out of bombs too fast ;;

You guys are in all the wrong places...if only you could "see" where the correct place was to manaburn @75. 8)
