    File error

Well, I've been trying to play Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War with a bunch of friends recently, but when I went to patch the game, I got an error message. So, I figured that it had something to do with the fact that I was using a cracked exe.

I tried swapping them around again, but I got an error message telling me that the exe was write-protected. So, I restarted my computer, but when I went to go back into the folder, I got the following message:

    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...card/Error.jpg

So I uninstalled the game, but then I noticed that the folder was still there. Same error message again.

I tried going into regedit and deleting values that were associated with the game, but I had no success.

I also tried the deltree command in DOS, nothing.

Any idea as to WTF is going on? >_>

    Tried it. Didn't work.

Remember, I'm trying to delete the actual file and not the exe (because I uninstalled the game).

Filesystem corruption? Fire up chkdsk /f and schedule a check for next reboot.

Incorrect security property settings? (can't be viewed except in safe mode on XP Home, I think) If running XP Pro, disable simple file sharing to check this... Start>Run>secpol.msc, expand Local Policies, and select Security Options, then scroll to "Network access: Sharing and security model for local acounts", and change it from "Guest" to "Users authenticate as themselves." and you'll gain the Security tab for your properties sheet.

    Virus?

Just a few things to check.

There is probably a file in there that is read only.

If you cant delete that file, you cant delete the folder.
