    2 part question:

    1) It's generally accepted that you need to fight EP mobs to break a WS latent, correct?

    Then

    2) It would be assumed that your target for a WS has to be said EP+ mob to break said latent...

    But

I just broke latent on black halo using moonlight, granted it was on EP mobs but it's not even an offensive weapon skill. Are we sure that the WS latent requirement wasnt mistranslated the same way obtaining BLU spells were originally and that you could just break latent on any dinky mob as long as it was capable of giving EXP at one time?

    I dont get it...

Fight EP with your Weapon equiped...

    1 point for soloing, opening a Lv.1, 2 or 3 SC.
    3 points for closing a Lv.2 SC.
    5 points for closing a Lv.3 SC.

Repeat till you obtain 300 WS points.

Wouldn't be that difficult to figure out really. I dunno about anyone else but every trial or BC latent effect weapon I've ever worked has a page of 300 or 500 tallys in a book of mine. If someone could accurately get to, like, 280/300 on a trial weapon then see if the final 20 worked off on a too week, we'd know for sure without them having totally wasted their time.

    Volunteers please.

It's possible that the game determines what you WS'd on by using <bt>?

The real question is did Ryko only lvl PLD to unlock club? That way he would never have to play a mage job.

I capped club with someone's kraken on monk >| PLD was like my third job to 65 but I hated playing it (especially in exp) so I dropped it for like 2 years.

I guess I don't get it either. You said you were using WS on an EP. Regardless of whether or not it's an offensive WS, why wouldn't it count as 1 point against this EP mob you were fighting?

My question is why would moonlight count like... at all? It doesnt target the mob, hell you wouldnt even necessarily need to be fighting anything to use it. It doesnt result in aggro, doesnt do damage, targets yourself, doesnt even get a mob's attention. Breaking a latent with moonlight just didnt even seem feasible by any logic.

You are WSing on yourself. Which is EM.

    My best guess.

You definatly need a target. You cant use moonlight if youre not engaged or there is no mob to use it on.

Why not? It just wants 300 weapon skill points, right? WS are all 1 point, the SC itself is the thing that gives bonus points.

Press Ctrl+W and pop a menu of skills usable with weapons when you have TP and hey presto.

Yeah I get you have to be engaged to WS, you have to be engaged to do any WS at all >_> but you don't actually have to be fighting a mob. Maybe it's just the nature of moonlight and moonlight alone since it is the only WS that targets yourself.

can you do it facing away from the mob? Do you have to be inthe vincinity of the mob? Will it result in too far away messages?
