btw Ohemgee, new Mars Volta Album comin out on the 22nd of August!!! They got the guitarist from Red Hot Chili Peppers(forget his name) to play on each track as a guest guitarist :D
They have 1 track released, and it's badass, not like the second album at all![]()
Jon Frusciante played on both De-Loused in the Comatorium (Cicatriz) and Frances the Mute (L'Via L'Viaquez) so him being on Amputechture was a lot less surprising than Flea not being present. I'm really glad Frusciante keeps working with them because he's an exceptional guitarist who is held back terribly in RHCP.Originally Posted by Kross
Oh and thanks to the wonders of the internet, the album has been out for a little over a week now.
Vermicide, Meccamputechture, Viscera Eyes and Day of the Baphomets are four of the best songs they've ever written. The start of Tetragrammaton is amazing and overall it's not a bad song but it gets really disjointed at times and starts sounding uncomfortable. Also, the finale, El Ciervo Vulnerado, just didn't need to be on it.
Brilliant album and one so complex I had to break down the songs seperately and listen to them repeatedly, one at a time to love it after initially deciding I "didn't like it".
Just remember kids, they're never gonna re-make De-Loused in the Comatorium so get over that and enjoy the new material.
