registry editing

Frst off I did a search, "Registry edit" in all forums... got back 1627 results. Then I did one just in Screenshots forum and got back like 400+ results.

Simply put, I want to make my graphics top notch. I have my PC running through my Samsung 32" widescreen LCD HDTV, through the DVI slot. I have all the windower plugins but I know you can up the ante in your registry.

Please, where are these settings and what do you change them from/to? Thanks in advance.

Try MogTools, you can find a link on the windower forums I think. It's an easy to use interface that takes care of the actual registry editing for you, and you can even set profiles for Dynamis or other situations where you wouldn't want to have the graphics cranked up.

There's a really good post by someone in an old thread in the screenshots forum that pretty much explained it all. Not sure what thread, though... it's either Wafik's Photoshop tutorial or the Fav Screenshots thread near the beginning.

I have a link at home that edits the registry to 2048x2048. Not sure if it's 048, but it's definently 2k.

I get screenshots such as these: (taken from my last solo with Alky the day before the huge update)

Linked because....well...obviously 2k resolution shots break boards.

I am not a registry pro...So I don't understand the above posts instructions. If you don't understand the registry, don't follow those instructions.

The link I have uses -one- file which automatically sets the proper registry entries for you. Much easier than the post above mine.

so I already feel noobish enough to come on here and ask this, so no flamin prz...

I have Altana Viewer (oct 23, 2006) but I see people throwing out all these new pics of armor, mobs, enemies, etc. This is where I got my viewer:

I used this guide too. I mainly played with the resolution, the background, and the mip-mapping settings, as well as with the draw distance. Honestly it's not too bad, you end up changing just 2 or 3 settings.

On a further note, looks like I'm gonna try out that Mogtools to see if I can make a preset for Beseiged...Dynamis doesn't lag under my 2k x 2k resolution and looks amazing. Love my new comp.
