    Ipod suggestions

Ok, well i have some extra cash saved up from chacha and i have my eyes set on getting me a new Ipod(the one i currently own is 1st gen ). I'm thinking between the nano and normal ipod, i have like 20gigs worth of music but im sure i don't listen to all of it. Anyways, what would the fine people of bg suggest?

I recently bought the 80 gig one for $349.99. The 30 gig is $249.99 and if you have 20 gigs of music that would be just about filled up. I don't have nearly that much music, but then I would never have to worry about buying another one ever again. That was my reasoning.
The Nanos are a waste of money. The 8 gig Nano is the same price as the 30 gig, which is a total rip off, just for the looks.
You can't go wrong with the 30 or 80 depending on if you think 30 is enough.

Heres the thing, im closing in on the $150 mark right now and im not sure if iwant to wait much longer til i can afford the 80gig one. I was thinking the 2gig nano and just putting the music i like on it and moving it all around. I would mainly be using it in my car seeing how mine doesn't even have a cd player (93 saturn ftw).

I got tired of the huge ipods so I just bought a nano, which can hold like 250 songs... and truth be told, I doubt I even listen to all 250 of those.

And if for some reason I want to add new songs, I just throw away something I never listen to... not a big problem.

But if you must have EVERYTHING you own on an ipod, get the biggest one.

I bought the 1gig the moment it came out, it's been good to me ever since, and I haven't really thought of getting anything else since.

Plus, if for some reason I need to carry more songs with me I always got the PSP + 2 4gig SD disks available, and each of them has enough room available still (after stuffing them with FF games ) to hold some just in case.

Dude that makes ZERO sense. Why would you pay 200 for 1000 songs when you could pay 50 dollars more for 15,000 songs. You would be wasting money to do that. And it is not really that big.. especially if it's always in your car.
    You're money though.

Because $50 can buy me something like wario ware, and i dont go on trips that will take me more then 4 days(on which i can store all my songs for).

Also, my laptop is always with me so if i want to change the musico n the ipod at a hotel i wont have to worry.

True, if you're gonna keep it in your car it doesn't make a difference.

But I, for instance, carry it around with me, and I don't hook it up to the car... so for me, i'd rather have a small, compact player that I can just tuck away in my pocket and not even feel it, rather than have a bigger one that actually bothers me.

Err, i guess i should rephrase. The main reason i want it is to use in my car, but it will NOT stay there full time. I plan on using it like a normal ipod too, but the main reason im interested is for decent music on the road.

if i could afford a new ipod id go with the 30 gig the guy above me is right its really not that big unless your trying to get really really small for whatever reason and i dunno about anyone else but when i held the nano i felt like i was gonna break it when switching songs

Either way it goes back to the same point...

In my car, I have 6 CDs, that I just pump with whatever songs I want to listen to at the time... for me, I don't really see the point in hooking up the ipod to the car, and even if I did hook it up... I still wouldn't listen to over 250 songs, so what's the point in getting a bigger one.

Btw, what's a good ipod connector for the car? I should try it out sometime lol.

I felt that way too, that's why I bought some plastic case that you put over it to make sure I don't lol.

Well if your car has an auxilary port you can connect it through that, or if you have a shitty old car like me you can get a radio thingy that plugs into the cigerrate lighter.

The point isn't about getting a bigger one, the point is that the Nanos are a rip off. You are paying out of the nose for 2 gigs of music. I just got a 1 gig flash drive from Office Max for 19.99. Now I know its not an Ipod, but youre willing to pay 200 dollars for 2 gigs? Pretty idiotic.

Car isn't old, but I guess it doesn't have it either heh... i'm getting a new car soon either way, so I guess I won't be bothered with it for now.

That is exactly my point. You don't see it as a waste to spend 200 dollars on something for that same size.. I understand it doesn't play music, but playing music justifies it costing 10 times as much?
For christ's sake if your limit is 200 dollars go on craigslist and I bet you could get more for your money for a used one. I'm just trying to talk you into reason, not yell at you.

Yeah, my sites were originally set on the 80gig one but some friends talked me out of it...i just did a quick google search for SDcard mp3 players, and this came up which could be perfect..

has anyone heard of this / things about it?

A lot of the new cars Exo these days are coming with hookups specifically for ipods since they know everyone has them. I know all Acuras and BMWs, so I'd check for that when buying a car.
What do you do for work btw?
