    Gods and Heroes

This new MMO is scheduled to come out June 1st... I haven't heard of it up until today, and I'm sorta in the market for a new MMO. Has anyone heard good news about this? This does look pretty cool, though.

The game takes place in ancient Rome, and apparently it's like an action MMO but you get to command multiple NPCs along with your main character at the same time. The only problem I see so far is that they only have 6 classes you can choose from at this point, but I'm sure they'll eventually add more and whatnot. Thoughts?

after growing fairly tired of ffxi and playing wow in my off time, while thinking it was a much better game minus the lack of community..

i canceled my wow account cause i just wasnt having fun.. realizing that mmo's really wear off after awhile. is it just me?

MMO's are fun up to a point, usually that point is end game when there just isnt really anything to do after a certain point.

Waste many hours getting items, get them, find the game to be boring since you have nothing left to get, then quit. This seems to be what I've seen in FFXI.

Treat MMO's like a card game, you can get together with your friends and play cards for years and years, same deal. The important part to enjoying one for a while is to make friends you like being with.

Yeah, this is exactly what's gonna happen with this MMO when it's released... A bunch of my friends and I are going to buy it and start playing the day it comes out. This game looks like it'll be awesome to play with friends.

Well everything gets old with time no matter how u look at it once you've done it you've done it at least thats how i feel about games. But the people you play with is probably what will keep you around longer at elast by a MMO look.

More interested in MMO-like single player / shorter play games (D2/FF12 basically), pretty similar concepts with a fraction of the timesinks.

D3 will be fucking money if they don't make it an MMO, that is for sure.

MMO's are fine... it's the boot-camp linkshell schedules and politics that suck.

The problem isn't that those guilds exist. It's that content is created which pretty much requires being in one of those guilds to be able to experience it... and even then, a lot of that content is just a meaningless treadmill.

Large-person content loses its appeal of "epicness" pretty quickly in the MMO world. Pretty much every major MMO has downsized its raid size as it's progressed. The trend will probably continue for the most part.

I was basically going to post a summarisation of what you just said, after my original comment to clarify why I said those two things particularly sucked. I should have followed through lol

Well, EQ increased its raid size up until about expansion 4. Then they decided to go the other way. And on top of that, according to gucomics today, a lot of the old school raid content is now soloable with enough of the new gear. Some 75 cleric on the forum was talking about how they went into a second-expansion raid zone and cleared up to one of the bosses alone, and they could have soloed it if it wasn't the fabled version (whatever that means).

If I wasnt planning to play Age of Conan I would look into this. Seems pretty interesting and I love Greek Mytho's.

How many people will be named XxKratosxX though? :D
