Looking for something that creates a hotspot...

I'm looking for something that routes an internet connection through a computer and creates a hot spot out of the connection thats connected to the computer... Like those Action Replay things or Nintendos wifi dongle but something that will work in my school and I can use to connect to the internet on my laptop. The school has a connection bit its about 2 buildings down the sidewalk which obviously I cannot connect to as it is to far away.

Edit: Also I want to be able to make it so only I can use it because other students in the classroom have laptops and I don't want it to widespread! (This is in computer programming and a+ cert operating systems)

I'm positive that other manufacturers make these if you don't like d-link, just what i use at home. and its cheap.

windows has some built in wireless network management to help with security (beyond the software it comes with)

Thats exactly what I'm looking for. But I'm keeping my options open all day so if anyone has anything else then please tell me! I will have to see if they carry it at best buy or somewhere. Thanks !

Windows (and *nix of course) can act as a software bridge for multiple network adapters, so you just need a wireless nic, preferably one that supports promiscuous mode.

I can't really get into these computers to put in a wireless nic card for my laptop to run off of since they are school computers. So basically buying a wifi nic card and buying what the other poster suggested would be the same thing hehe! But thanks for your suggestion I really appreciate it.
