    WTF at name selection

    Error code FFXI-3322 for name unavailable, I've chosen over 30 names, alot of them with almost maximum characters, no way in hell anyone else has them chosen, I just cannot bypass the character creation screen at this point... yes all content ID's are active/registered blahblahblah...

    Try a gilseller type name, or try again later.

    That's how I ended up Shuemue. I tried a bunch of names and finally said fuckit and picked a randomly generated one.

    The odds of what I have picked being chosen, especially since you pick your server with the name so it isolates to 1 instead of all, just no way...

    Just list some of the names you tried then.

    If applicable, also add the novel/movie/comic/game/etc where they were one of your fav chars

    It does the same thing with linkshell names. It's not that they're in use, it just blocks certain combinations. For example. I can't name a linkshell "Stelolololocoptor," but "Stelolololcoptor" works fine. Number of lolololoollool's doesn't matter. True story btw.

    Perhaps the language filter affects which names are not accepted in character/linkshell names as well? In that case you could have a japanese insult imdebbed in your name and that is why it won't go through. Just speculation though.

    Search ffxiah for player name. That'll confirm if it's taken or not. Provided they sold at least one thing in jeuno AH.
