DVD Authoring Program

I was wondering if anyone knew a good place to get a DVD authoring program. The burning software I have on my computer will only let me burn data dvds.

I need software that will let me burn a movie that will play on any regular dvd player.

Any ideas?

Any good authoring software should allow you to burn dvd's. I believe Windows Moviemaker allows this capability, however I've heard it's very basic. Sonic My DVD has similar features. Nero might (I forget, I KNOW it allows me to do image copy )

nero has everything it seems but isent compatible with vista if your using XP get nero

for buring movies roxio 8 is pretty good i like there menu's better but they take forever to burn nero would take maybe 35mins to burn a 2hr DVD roxio will take 2hrs or more

Thanks for the replies. I have nero 6.0 it came free with my DVD burner. It does everything except author new movie dvds. For creating dvds it only lets me create data dvds. I guess I should just upgrade my version of Nero then it sounds like the easiest thing to do.

nero 7 is what i had might be new verion out now u should get most recent rather then just upgrading to full version of 6
