    COR: Guns and other piratey stuff

    Looks like the COR thread was lost in the rollback, which is a shame since I'm leveling it now and it was full of good info. Mind reposting the gun progression ideas? Starting at about 30 if people can remember that far back.

    Feel free to post other COR comments, questions, and info in this thread! Maybe we can get another one as good as the previous one going.

    Quick Draw Damage = (1+MAB*.01)*2*(ammo damage + gun damage)

    AGI acts as magic accuracy.

    I don't know how the AF hat figures in.

    AF hat would appear to only add a MAB. As to sleep duration and over all accuracy of quickdraw, I don't think anything's been reliably tested.

    I'd go for this:

    30: Mars' Hexagun (+1)...wasn't in the game when I leveled COR, but is better than what I used (Pirate's +1)
    40: Trump Gun
    46: maybe Deluxe Carbine
    56: Matchlock Gun (+1)
    60: Shark Gun
    72: Martial Gun/Coffinmaker/Peacemaker depending on preference/availability/application

    Most of the hexaguns don't excite me, except for the ones above. Shark Gun is ridiculously good for level 60, so you should try to get this if you can; it requires you to be Corporal. I guess if that's unavailable, you may want to look into Hexagun (+1) for 65.

    I use Martial Gun pretty much all the time; it's the best gun for Slug Shot, and since 70, I've gotten TP with Joyeuse, which I feel is the most efficient. Some people like the Coffinmaker, and some like Peacemaker for when you're forced into a pulling role. I wouldn't mind Coffinmaker for when I can't use my Joyeuse (Salvage), but I'm not going though all that trouble since I usually attend Salvage as BRD.

    speaking of gear, what do you usually dual wield when /NIN ?
    one is Joyeuse, the other could be :

    - Phantom Fleuret, for bonuses but sword skill and DMG arent that much
    - Corsair Scimitar maybe? hadnt had a chance on Lamia 7
    - any +Racc knife, but they're damage is really low
    - Jambiya, nice but expensive for being used occasionally
    - Behemoth Knife, nice, makes use of COR high dagger skill trait
    - others?

    i havnt had the chance to play around with a merc. kris, but i'd imagine it to be pretty good on colibri...

    joy/merc. kris for tp spammage

    You don't dual-wield anything, even as /NIN. You'll build TP the fastest by single-wielding Joyeuse (or M.Kris if you're using that). Putting a single-hit dagger or sword in your off-hand will only slow your TP gain down.

    I'm a Cor/rng theres no reason to xp with /nin on birds they dont hit that hard and they should be dead pretty quick. beaters' and gun belt on slug and you shouldnt ever miss. I use mkris with haste and acc gear and keep up if not out tp the wars and drop off 800ish slugs pretty consistantly. I dont have a joy so i can't compare. but definatly saves on ammo.
