drain still drains HP of the mob, even if you have full HP and you get 0 HP of it. so i think it will give TP and will give you slightly a bit hate.

Drain at full HP definately gives hate, and I'd assume it would be at the same rate as if you'd nuked for the amount of damage that you do. I can't imagine they would ratio the hate from damage done by drain differently to any other magical nuke.

Well, I never questioned the hate being scaled to the amount of hp you recovered as it doesn't show the damage you do, just the hp you drained, and when you have full hp, it says you drained 0hp despite the mob's hp dropping a good chunk. I personally have never noticed any hate after a 0hp drain that really did good damage.

Definately gives hate; i've pulled it off the tanks using it at full health while leveling it several times now


Additional little-known fact: Bloody Bolts act just like drain, meaning you'll deal the full drain damage with them, even if you already have full HP.

More appropriately, Drain seems to deal -less- hate when it heals you for 0- but I think that's because self-cures (I'd include Drain there) obviously give you some hate.

I have pulled hate with Drain at full health before at start of a fight so id say that it defiantely still gives you some hate. Not sure how you could test if it gives you more or less if you received any health from it.

Saying it gave no hate was pushing it and a poor choice of words, I meant that Drain hate is scaled based on hp drained and not damage dealt, so that if you drained 0hp, it would be very low hate. At least that's what I've been told the last three years.
