Is there such a thing for ffxi? I'm curious as to if I am going to have to recode one of the EQ2 ones for one of the wow dkps for this. Can anyone point me in the right direction for a FFXI DKPs or does one exist?

The one that most people use is eqdkp and adjust from there.
Anyone have any premade scripts or know where I can find a guide about how to modify this?
Premade scripts for?
I've been using the basic EQDKP install for points in my LS for almost 2 years. I've needed some minor stylistic changes and some minor changes to assist LS rules but never needed scripts.
nvm think I have figured this out
People still use DKPS? I thought it was all "point" systems now.
people still use point system in this game? usually to keep people helping out with a point system you need some sort of general game progression. once you get your ridill with your points you dont need to participate anymore haha
Points are pretty much the most fair and balanced way to distribute gear based on an objective balance between participation, jobs, and what people have already obtained. At least, it's a lot better than some leader with absolute power saying who gets what based on his own subjective judgement.Originally Posted by Xiona
As for people bailing when they get Ridill, there is no system of loot distribution that could force someone to keep participating once they got what they wanted if they didn't feel like it, so it's a moot point.

Um yea ive been a point based ls and an ls. As well as an LS where gear is awarded at officer desgrestion. I must say points are a much faier way than seeing the same 8 people getting all the items Because they have been in the ls longer, It feels more rewarding with a point system but that is my own personal opinion.
Yah for the perpetual argument of point vs /point. Each system has their flaws but I've had less drama in the point system that my LS has been using on LOLsash server.
Well, in a point system, you're supposed to take points away when people get items, and have job priorities. That prevents the same 8 people from getting everything because they've been in the LS longer, and it also prevents SAMs from obtaining sashes when other jobs are present.Originally Posted by Epyslon
point system + main job rule + officer discretion on the "duh" stuff = best way to go. Leader telling people what to lot is retarded imo
I'm a fan of of that system too, The way my LS does it is that we keep track of points with EQDKP, and when something drops, we consider the top few points earners and a few other things, like whether they've been coming to previous camps or sitting in Whitegate seeking for merits.Originally Posted by Demosthenes11
If you're interested in using EQDKP to track points for your linkshell, I've made a "games" definition file for FFXI that will set all of the job classes, races, min/max level, and armor types for FFXI in EQDKP. Since the game doesn't have any real defined armor "classes", I just used some basic classes:
-Light (ranger, corsair, thief, etc)
-Heavy (paladin, dragoon, dark knight, etc)
-Mystic (mages, summoner, etc)
-Martial (monk, samurai, ninja).
Just drop FFXI.php into your "games" folder and also into your "admin" folder under the root EQDKP installation folder (not sure the latter is necessary, but there's a copy of the same file in both folders for all the other games). After doing so, go to your Administration Panel, under Configuration, and set the Default Game to "FFXI" and submit. It makes the necessary changes to the database for all the FFXI-specific jobs, races, armor classes, and minimum/maximum levels.
I modified mm_addmember so when you're adding or updating members, it shows "<job> Level 1 - 75". Without that modification, and just using the FFXI game definition file, you would see "<job> Level 1+" for all jobs. To make the same modification, follow the steps in the text file included in the zip.
After doing this, you'll be able to view all kinds of cool statistics about your loot distribution, job/race distribution and statistics per event/raid, etc. I've noticed a lot of FFXI linkshells using EQDKP are just using "Unknown" for everyone's race/job and can't track these kinds of stats very well. Then again, to some people, that may not be very important.
Edit: Forgot steps to configure the admin/config.php file to place FFXI in the list of game selections. Updated files within attachment.
