Depends on what the crowd is like. Some like hip hop, others reggaeton (hispanics,) etc. What do they like more or less? and do they like to dance?

A party isn't a party without a Phil Collins tune.

Dunno why, but I've had that song in my head for awhile now and it seems like it would be good.

It seems like you have some pretty specific tastes. But yeah, more about the crowd and the TYPE of party would be good. If you have a dance room/floor with black lights, and some beer pong tables set up, and you're pulling in a typical college crowd, Aerin's suggestions are the type of music you want.

If the party is a bit less dance-oriented, throw some R&B in there:

    Johnta Austin - Defensive
    Trey Songz - Missing You
    Jay Sean - Tonight
    Usher - What's a Man to Do
    Ne-Yo - Make it Work

And some tracks that are just good to chill to:

Estelle - You Are (feat. John Legend)
    Usher - Pop Ya Collar
Gym Class Heroes - Viva La White Girl
    Chrishan - Girlfriend
    Usher - Revolver
Three 6 Mafia - I Gotta Stay Fly
    T-Pain - Church
Sean Kingston - I'm at War (feat. Lil Wayne)
Ryan Leslie - Addiction (feat. Cassie and Fabolous)
    Omarion - Entourage
    Lil Wayne - Mrs. Officer
Kid Cudi - Day N Nite
    Kid Cudi - Dat New
    Maroon 5 - This Love
    Marie Digby - Umbrella
    Lady Gaga - Poker Face
    Akon - Dangerous

A general rule of thumb for most party playlists is to have some mainstream/popular songs in there, since girls usually like singing along <_<

Also, you can never really go wrong with house/house-y music:

LMFAO - I'm in Miami Bitch

    Justice - Waters of Nazareth
    Justice - Phantom Part II
    Daft Punk - Superheroes
    Deadmau5 - Arguru
