Weird Nike - FFXI related srs bizness

Ok, so the new Nike SB line has a very strange parallel to FFXI

There are 4 new shoes, one for each season, but get this, a friend of mine works at a store that is carrying these and the catalog goes into more detail then the webpage does about the history behind the seasons/names.

Apparently the names are (in season order), Genbu(winter), Seiryu(spring) Suzaku(Summer), and Byakko(Fall) based on Japanese history/lore.

I think I'm going to buy the Byakko's (last to be released this fall) and cut a pair in half. That might be the only way I'll ever get to kill a god.

They were designed by the only North American-born apprentice of the legendary tattoo artist Hiroyoshi III.

Feel free to flame but i thought this was unusual and pretty sweet.

just weird imo that they are using the same lore/history I guess. I probably shouldn't so surprised considering the artist's influences. Just made me lol when my old FFXI buddy called me and sent me a pic msg with the catalog page.
