OFN I know but I was in magazine writing class and someone told me they killed Captain America? like forever? a year ago? WTF you don't kill super heroes (except superman but he came back from the dead), is that true?

Yeah he got pretty owned.
Yea old news
They're already planning to bring him back only this time he's packing heat.
Eh, they kill superheroes all the time, it's just a matter of how long they stay dead, for the most part.
Some of them actually stay dead though.
I'm surprised you know who Captain America is because there is no possible way you are familiar with comics.Originally Posted by Saga
was only familiar with Superman and Green Lantern, both of which died (did Hal Jordan die? idk he was replaced by the younger GL who i liked a lot, that fight in issue #0 was epic), but as far as killing off a hero for good? wouldnt that mean the comics...stop going into production? what do you write about if you have a long stint of a dead superhero? can't call them captain america comics without captain america, thanks for your comment though BRP.Originally Posted by BRP
Since Cap's death in issue 25 the comic has focussed mainly on Winter Soldier and to a lesser extent, The Falcon. Like mentioned already, "Captain America" is coming back, but it's not Steve Rogers. The costume is being redesigned by Alex Ross, famous for the DC Kingdom Come series. Who is actually in the costume remains to be seen.Originally Posted by Saga
i believe the current captain americas are about his nizzle Bucky trying to avenge him or some such.
Gonna be the Punisher! ...maybe...doubtful.

He's got a gun...My bet's on Bucky for now
Captain America with a gun ? That dun look right![]()
They shoulda gave him a boomerang sword (not necessarily exact V-shape), so it'd have a type of gladiator feeling and he can dual wield fucking boomerangs.(or objects that return whatever...)
Well he is a soldier, I doubt theyll make him use it much.
Yea, but I can totally see a comedy real already. Captain America springs into action shooting all badguys in sight, he then lunges his trusty shield at a distant enemy, while reloading. Unfortunately the gun gets jammed while reloading and the shield comes back and hits him in the face.
Something iono... Gun just don't seem right for him, to me...
And Gladiator/ Spartan type fights with additional sword/shield flinging and swinging would be fucking awesome.
I have recently been made aware that Alex Ross's true identity is Satan. So much makes sense now.Originally Posted by -Zer0-
Yeah, most of what i hear is that the 'new Captain America' will likely either be Bucky or Hawkeye. I remember seeing a poll somewhere that showed that the fans are almost even in their desire to see one of these two in the costume, with Bucky being the slight favorite.
iirc out of all the people that tried using caps shield when he died, only hawkeye could use it well.
Hawkeye was Captain America for a brief stint after Cap's death, but declined the role (mostly because it's now under Stark's possession) and is now Ronin.
actually on that note of comic books...i have a huge green tub full of superman comics, how much would those be worth now? or in 15 - 20 years? i think i have the entire superman vs. doomsday set of comics, ending in superman's death. those were 1992 i think..and i have the 3 part series where he fights doomsday AGAIN with Time Rider or w/e th ehell that gold guy's name is...i also have a bunch of the newer ones where Superman comes back as the electrified version, those are 97 i think, and then i should still have the issue where he finally loses his electric powers and returns to normal, Superman Reborn or Returns or something like that. Rebirth maybe, i forget, it's been forever. and then a shit ton of miscellaneous ones, all dating from like 1988 to 2000. plus some random green lantern, though the only worthwhile issue i have of that is when Hal Jordan fights new, younger GL (not J'onn J'onzz), that's issue #0 or something like that.
or are all those worth shit?
