    Moving

I live in the UK currently and have the uk version (registered with), soon I will be moving to america, what happens with Payment, will i need to get an american version installed instead? And anything else that might be affected like addresses being changed etc.

Is it easier to buy an american version, rather then keep my UK one?
    Thanks

if you buy an american version you will be able to play on it but not change anything on your character (like adress, billing etc..).

Just keep your Uk account and your eur pol, will work fine. Update the payement info and you're good to roll.

Like I'm in switzerland but playing (and paying in USD) since release on pol US. Got no prob at all.

Only things that would be better if you have an us verison is the money, cause it's far cheaper in USA atm, however if you want to pay in USD you'll have to start your character from scratch, which I'm sure you dont want XD

You can login from any region, using any region's POL. You'll only need to do account administration via EU POL.

A simple way of knowing what you can and can't do, is anything in Member Services you'll need EU POL for, changing CC details etc. If your payment info stays current and payments go through, you'll never need EU POL.

Oh and btw, until a year or two ago, all EU accounts were charged in USD, this became optional, and the default is local currency now, but my account is still charged in USD.

It's cheaper to pay in USD, I changed to paying with a debit card and regretted it because they immediately changed to pounds and it works out more.

You must keep your EU version not only for being able to change membership details in an EU version of POL but also because your characters are tied to the reg.codes of the game version you created them on. And yeah, it's not any different being in the US playing on EU version than being in EU playing on the US version... or JP version.. you can log on on any version from anywhere. Only negative side effect is that if you ever have trouble with your account and need to contact the SE customer services, you need to contact EU services. I'm EU playing on US version and when my boyfriend got hacked we got told by the English helpdesk to wait eight hours more for the US customer support phone lines to open and then ring them, apparently they only deal with their region's game versions. Yay. But lets hope you never have to go through that.

    thanks for your replies :D

Basically as long as I take EU disks (incidentaly does it matter if they are my originals?) and install them in the US, I can update any of my details, even if I was changing those details to somesort of payment in america or an american address?

Yeah, credit card payment details can be set to any country regardless of your POL version.
Your discs obviously don't need to be originals but you do always need the original reg. codes from the manual of whenever you created your character originally. For example, lets say you broke your first set of discs by accident and had to buy new ones to re-install, you still need to keep the reg.codes of your broken discs because those are the codes your character was originally created with. Again, you will most likely never need them but IF you ever get hacked, forget your password or anything like that, SE will not help you without them.
