Dual instances of windower freeze: is this happening to you?

I know a few people have said "mine is fine..." and others have said "yeah, mine does it too..."

I have a question: For those who were experiencing it as well, did one or both of your characters happen to zone through Whitegate? I am beginning to notice a pattern with mine... I was fine earlier so decided to try again to do more enmity tests. I had to take my alt through Whitegate to get him home to Windurst and then Ashira's window started to freeze every time I was in the alt window, but the alt's window never had problems when I was in Ashi's window.

Yesterday, when either would freeze as I switched, both accounts were in Whitegate.

Earlier today when I never entered Whitegate, both windows were completely fine.

Just want to see if it's the same pattern for everyone...

Being in whitegate ever makes my first window lag to hell, yesterday with 2 in whitegate it seemed worse in the first but didn't freeze. Haven't had 2 on since maint. today.

I noticed the same, but everywhere else I get 5-10fps with the non-focused pol.exe which is pissing me off.

I'm trying to find the pattern here, and this doesn't help. Try logging them and seeing how you do with neither account going through Whitegate.

Was running 2 copies today (windower lite, I think), different areas, and anytime I was in one, the other would just freeze until I selected it again. One time I left it like this for too long and the frozen account disconnected itself from the game. I'm not sure, but I think the unselected account would show R0 to anyone around it, the resume when I selected it again.

/nod, did either account run through Whitegate at any time though? Log in there, anything? Not what zones were you in the entire time of being on, but just running through Whitegate once at any point?

Well I just logged back into al zahbi and I'm getting 29 w/ focus, 5-10 unfocused.

Edit - I put one char in mog, the other in whitegate. Whitegate char in focus = 25fps and the unfocused one in mog freezes. With mog char in focus I get 29fps and whitegate char unfocused gets 10-15fps. I r confused.

My first screen did R0 for a bit while it was out of focus if that makes any difference, the second screen didn't though and I didn't ever literally freeze.

This info isn't really helping...

Log out and keep both characters OUTSIDE of whitegate/aht urhgan anything and see if you have the same problem. Then run ONE character through whitegate or whatever and see if either window freezes.

Just saying 'yeah i have this too' with no zone info or trying in other zones doesn't help pinpoint a problem.

It is happening to me again now after Teleport Mea'ing as well, whereas I was fine for the last couple hours with enmity tests.

It's either high lag areas (graphics/people - big crowd at mea), or zoning (but I zoned in and out of windy numerous times during enmity tests)...

It's this, but I found a way to get around it... sorta. If I zoom all the in 3rd person on both chars and point downward I can get around whitegate with 29fps on both. Kinda annoying but allows me to go on follow without lag.

It's just weird that it's fine until this triggers it. Granted, always had a slow down, but this puts it in like a permanent state of freezing in non-focus window even after leaving laggy area.

I was in South Sandy and Buburimu. Never went to Whitegate at all.

I'm getting this problem as well, it can be fine for hours, then suddenly the window that isn't in focus will freeze until it's brought back into focus. Left too long out-of-focus, the character r0s and eventually gets disconnected even if you bring the window back into focus. And now that you mention it, the freezing has only happened when I go to or am in Whitegate / Al'Zahbi (Besieged). :/

this happens to me too, doesn't necesarily have to be whitegate though... it seems like sometimes its fine, but other times if the window isn't the window that active on my computer, it'll lag behind, i'll occasionally come back to a red dot that goes away, it's really annoying.

anyone else randomly hear a windows "boop" sound for now reason while using windower? i'll be playing and then every so often i hear "boop" like i hit the wrong button or something

Uuugh, I was having no issues with dual boxing but just now one of my characters lagged out, other was running fine so I decided to restart. Now I'm having issues logging either one in; it goes really slow, and if I do manage to log a second character in he will disconnect if I do not have the window focused on him. Uuugh. Also, the character I have logged in right now is waiting for Sandy airship... and it just kinda hung in midair. >_> And then person I was with slid onto the airship in the /sit animation. God damnit, lol.

PS: No Whitegate involved for me, by the way.

So, question for those who are having this problem.

Can you access the Friend List Plus site? I can't using my ISP, but I can connect using my phone (T-Mobile/TZones).

If the answer to the above is no, are you bychance using Comcast?

I already told you I was in whitegate on both characters, so the fact that mine didn't freeze there is what I consider useful information. If you don't appreciate ME trying to help YOU, then I won't ^^

Lately with me, I have to ALT-TAB to both windows constantly. If I don't pay attention to one window for more then 5 minutes (sometimes longer sometimes smaller) I'll D/C on that toon. It fucking pisses me off.

I had one character Behemoth's Dominion (roughly 10 people in zone,) and another in Dragon's Aery after the maintenance today (Maybe 40 people tops?) and I was having that issue.

Gonna have to drag my TV back upstairs and become even more anti-social if I want to 2box.
