More Info On The Keylogger Hacking

Alot of people trying to figure out how this happened and how to see if you have it (even tho they havent been hacked yet) My story: I have always played on ps2 until 1 month ago I got a brand new PC and installed ffxi. I have used }}somepage{{ on it, and other ffxi info sites. My computer has Vista, I use firefox and many virus scan programs, it does not have Real Player. Ive done the steps indicated in the guide, the only thing I am seeing is under regedit > in3.dll search, I have a few files come up, the 1 that concerns me is ( Name: (Default) Type: REG_SZ Data: (value not set).

    Few questions:

    1) Does this file have anything to do with keylogger? I have tryed to delete it because of just feeling sketched out about it, but it will not let me delete.

    2) Are there any cases reported of people being hacked WITHOUT Real Player? Or any cases with a Vista user?

    3) As of now, I changed POL password on ps2, and havent logged in on PC again yet, as to peoples knowledge, does this make me 100% safe?

    Thank you for any help

is there a need to start a new thread when there are several already open and in discussion?

sometimes posts get overlooked in threads, ever find a few wall o' text posts and just more or less breeze through those then generally scroll past a few other posts? i think it's more or less someone just hoping they don't fuck up their new PC within a month's time

Actually the one discussion topic that is NOT locked yet about this, has dozens of questions by people that are unanswered, trying to not add to the pile. For someone who is really following this keylogger thing, these questions really shouldnt be that hard to answer.

Keep in mind that if you followed the directions provided in another thread, and scanned your hard disk for the infected files, it adds a key to the registry that records recent searches. If this is the case you haven't been infected, vista just remembers you tried to search for something with a matching name.

I think changing passwords on the console and then not using the new password on the PC should make you more safe, but there is still a chance that by having your POL ID from the virus (you can't change your POL ID unfortunately) there is still a chance they could use software to generate a password. Not likely to work though, since they'd get locked up if they enter the wrong password too many times.
