Anyone know what these things are? there's one in N.Gusta [s] south of the maw.

In one of the stickies (maybe Mission or Area Discussion?) someone reported that it might be related to the 3 "assault" areas. (Everbloom Hollow, Ruhotz Silvermines, Ghoyu's Reverie) Gustaberg's would probably be related to the Silvermines.
EDIT: Here we go:

When you click them, they says "does not respond..." It's possible they are for a OPs thing or just for something not implemented yet.
Every expansion has to have its Ebon Panels.
If you touch the Beastman Ensign, you can attack the stronghold.
And if you take over the region, you get Mission 4.
True Story.
They might make ebon panels do something this expansion since last expansion they made ROTZ's green glow do something. Assuming they follow the pattern that they finish the expansion two expansions after it.Originally Posted by Taj
But that would mean that they activated the ORIGINAL ebon panels (the dormant apparatuses) in CoP! Also, ToAU has 3 (Engraved Tablets + Nyzul Weapons + Glory Crown) and apparently Nyzul weapons will be used in this expansion! Dun dun dun.Originally Posted by LinktheDeme
I believe it was covered in one of the topics on Fanfest that Nyzul weapons will be a main ingredient in making the new relic weapons.
Glory Crown shouldn't be considered an Ebon Panel, it isn't meant to do anything. However, it still has a purpose. (It's a reward and it looks cool.) Ebon Panels/Engraved Tablets don't do anything, and have no purpose.
What about Cactuar Needles, Doll Gizmos, and Nidhogg's Scales? Where do they go?Originally Posted by Taj
I think an interforum Ebon Panel standard needs to be drafted. The first criteria should be that the object in question must be an NPC, not an item.Originally Posted by Sagacious Sundi

They're for OPS, training one I just did![]()
Was it like a real assault that took you somewhere?Originally Posted by Shalyn

Yeh, took me into some cave type area with an NPC and a crab, just let the guy beat on the crab and 'train', you can enfeeble the crab if you want, and I think you can kill the crab after the text comes up that he's fighting vigorously or something.. but we just let him kill the whole way.Originally Posted by Rocl
Remember SE adds stuff just to have it there to be used, even if it isnt. Case in point there are still tunnels to nowhere even in normal Vana'diel that can be used for zonelines.
Its not so much "finishing" a expansion as someone here put it as much as leaving options open in areas to allow them to use it later to add something else. They have said as much in the previous FanFest when the green teleports where brought up.
So.. what about the 'Ebon Door' in WotG that actually works?Originally Posted by Taj
The Allied Ensign basically leads you to that nations Campaign Ops zone. I signed up for the stupid training one last night and went to the Allied Ensign to enter the zone. Works just like assault. Gather your Campaign Ops members around you, PT leader touches Ensign, start your Campaign Ops.
