Pretty sure its 100% random, I guess it could have a path... but for pulling I tend to get best link in Middle of H-7. And by best Link I mean not waiting more then 15Mins for him to link I tried Middle of Dune Widow area once I think we spent 40mins waiting for his stupid friend to link him...

Don't know, sorry but if it is god thats stupid and fire weather is rare out there any ways lol.

It has a set path, runs around where the Cactuars pop, when you're not in his path you can wait 10 hours without getting him to link. When you're in his path you shouldnt be waiting more than 15 minutes.

I've camped him a lot. I've never seen any indication that there's a set path. He is also not a weather determined NM.

Syl, Can I ask you about what drop rate on the bow have you seen? I seem to get a Earring almost every time though but once when we got like a arm and thats all -_-;

Edit: Or for that matter any one who has camped him alot?

~ 1/5 with TH4. That's a rough estimate though. Earring is super common (~80% with TH4).

I always catch him at the same spot and get him to link in less than 10 minutes, once I was confused and forgot where that spot was, pulled a Cactuar and waited over 2 hours without to link it, then tried to move to another place and it linked right away, so I'm kinda sure there is a set path.
As for drop, I'm 0/6 solo right now so no Treassure Hunter

I always catch him at the same spot and get him to link in less than 10 minutes, once I was confused and forgot where that spot was, so I pulled a Cactuar and waited over 2 hours without to link it, then tried to move to another place and it linked right away, so I'm kinda sure there is a set path.
As for drop, I'm 0/6 solo right now so no Treassure Hunter

We've tracked him on widescan and never seen a predictable pattern unless perhaps it's random save always returning to one spot.

and @ no treasure hunter. I farm for the majority of my gil and I couldn't imagine doing it without TH.

Rukenshin and I would duo it (monopolized the NM for over 2 months actually) with our TH4 mule on 2 box. We ended up being ~ 1/4 over approximately 35 kills. Ruke has the exact numbers but it's around that. There was another duo that would camp it as well but they were just NIN + RDM and they were something like 1/16.

This is were I always catch him, need to pull the Cactuar right where I'm standing in that SS (H-7) and it should link in max 15 minutes. Cactrot will always cross this spot from either East to West, W->E or S->N. Don't stand too close to that quicksand hole with your add or the NM wont link.

The spot where I've waited over 2 hours without link is the other quicksand hole on the opposite site from the one at H-7. I had confused both spots and forgot wich one was the right hole since they kinda look the same, after moving to the right hole at H-7 it linked right away. I hope this helps.

And thanks a lot Muirlyn! I think we'll give it a shot. Before the hardest part of the fight was getting that fucker to link. Running around for like 20-70 minutes or so for like a 10m fight.

I would say about 10k HP, since my 600~dmg Blizzard3s would take 5%-6% from his HP.
