Are there any charmable mobs around the spawn point to make it possible to solo or duo this NM on BST?

Tried to duo it.... w/ smn and bst.... long fight 40% miss charm death... ya you might be able to solo it if you never resist charm otherwise.... I wouldn't bother.

Hey, I've soloed worse, its always worth a shot. Thanks for the input though you guys, I'll grab a friend for their Paintbrush of Souls and get right on it.

And yeah, I don't have a Paintbrush of Souls. Seriously, fuck that shit.

Yes I solo'd it once to 2% then died due to mischarm, then had help to kill it. It's rather easy with the Scorpions and Slimes. I used a couple Carries on occasion when I didn't want to risk things. Word of warning though, never face it directly or risk getting paralyzed and failing charm. Take your time and don't be in a rush, the fight will take a long time. Also, if you have some -enmity gear might be wise to bring it along.

Took me nearly an hour as a BST/WHM. Had the npc cure me every so often.
Only had one mischarm at the end. I sacrificed the bats, and used Leave on the scorpions.

Stack up on the CHR. You got nothing else other than luck.

I was going to go BST/NIN with a Hi-Potion tank or two, or should I just go /WHM?

I always go /nin.. but i have my npc capped at 65 as soothing healer. It's not. a hard solo really.. just a long one. Watch out for the tonberry and have fish oil broth for just in case things.. (Tame mischarm and call beast)...

Also, to my recollection the pets you will find near the ??? are.. 1 Scorpion, 2 Bats, and 2 mousse. In the tunnel right beside it there are 2-3 more bats and another mousse or 2.. and further back i believe there are some single bats... If you go back north(west?) you will be headed toward the area you have to light the torches for ZM4 where there are some single bats also (i figured i would let you know this just in case all of your pets die in the area and call beast is down.. though, it never has happened to me)

I did it years ago, before I had /NIN. I usually went /WHM for poisona and paralyna (and the rare Erase).

tried this last night, thf and whm (me whm) enfeebs would rarely land, and thf eva wasnt helping much and the dude hits pretty hard

i cannot stress enough not to get hit with Hex Eye, this is the strongest para i've ever seen

tried it with me nin/whm and a rdm healing on the side (as usual rdm didnt have whm sub....) and i got para'd about 25 times in a row before i died

this dude is really annoying to low man, as you should clear a few mobs near the ??? then you gotta deal with repop and hope nothing wanders over to you

BST low man (solo/duo) seems best but THF and WHM was a bit too slow killing and even if you hug the walls something eventually paths to you (you pretty much have 16mins or less to kill it unless ur bst or pup etc)

You can do it with 4 people in like three minutes. I've done it WAR/NIN, BRD/WHM, WHM/BLM, and NIN/WAR quickly and safely. I am sure even if you replace the WAR/NIN with a BST/NIN you could kill it in 5-6 minutes.

Except all my friends are assholes save one, and no one needs it so I could shout in Whitegate for hours without finding anything -_-

Not sure what the hell the other people talking about melee duos were wearing, but I did it with NIN + RDM 2boxed and didn't have any trouble at all.. also done WHM/DRK + THF for a friend because I didn't feel like changing jobs. If you aren't evading enough you don't have eva gear, plain and simple. Without any enfeebles for 2nd time I still hardly had to use ichi <_____<

if u say so, thf was wearing SH eva torque o hat that eva 10 belt and i forget what else

any ya, any 3rd or more job would make this so easy, i usually low man stuff cuz i cant stand shouting for help so i take whats around and usually duo stuff

Yeah, this is incredibly hard to solo lol.

First attempt: Got to 70%, ran out of pets, he hits like a truck.

Second attempt: Went /NIN, had 3 stacks of Silent Oils and 3 Hi-Pot tanks. Didn't get to use any though because he Thundaga IIIed me for 1000 damage even though I was way the fuck out of range.

This NM is such an asshole.

probly wait til i need to unlock a new weapon

got more important things to do like... rank 9->10 on my lvl 43 mule (maybe sky too before Lb items haha)
